HIS LUCKY STAR - EPISODE 38 AND 39

Austen broke the kiss when he sensed that Sara is gone, he smiled and hugged Nikita tightly, kissing her hair in the process.

“You taste like mocha” she said and he smiled, breaking the hug.

“You too” he said, caressing her cheeks.

“Really?”

“Sure, come here” he said and hugged her again

” You didn’t ask if she’s gone” he said

“She wouldn’t dare wait” she replied and he laughed

” She likes you” she said.

” Obviously, she came to my house yesterday” he replied

” Huh?, To do what? ” She asked, breaking the hug quickly

” To talk to me” he replied, looking at her face.

“About what? ” She asked curiously.

“Something personal” he said and she scrunched up her face.

He touched her hair and she shifted uncomfortably on his laps

“Personal?” She said

“Sure, she slept over though” he said knowingly and her facial expression changed.

“Oh…” She said and tried to stand from his laps but he held her back.

“I smell jealousy” he said

“Let me go” she replied bluntly.

“You believe I’d do that? ” He asked.

“Well…you said it yourself so…” She said and he smiled.

” So what?”

” Nothing” she replied

“I was joking” he laughed loudly.

“Jerk” she smirked and tried to stand again but she held her again.

“Where are you going to?” He said, she frowned and he kissed her nose tip

” You look cute even with a frown” he said and she frowned harder

” Smile please” he said

“So….what did you talk to Sara about last night?” She asked

“You’ll be one hell of a jealous girl” he said and she pouted

” She tried seduction but trust me, no seduction can be effective like yours” he said

” I do seduce you?” She said

” Yes, unknowingly, with your smile and every of your move” he replied.

” Austen” she called, holding his face

“Yes mocha?” He replied

“Do you …..” She stopped and took her hands off his face

“Do I what?” He asked

“Not now anymore” she replied

” Your eyes” he said, looking into her eyeballs

“What?” She asked

“You can go for surgery you know” he said.

“I’ve always wanted to….but it’s expensive” she replied

” What if I don’t mind footing the bills” he said

“No, I don’t want to mooch off you ” she said

” Who said you’re mooching off me, I’m offering” he replied

The opening of the door interrupted them and Das came in with Sara.

Nikita tried to stand from his laps but he pulled her back.

“So it’s true, you’re slacking off at work all because of her?” He said, pointing at Nikita

” Sara?” Austen said and Sara looked away

“Get to work, now!’ Das yelled

” It’s my office dad, I’m almost done with the files, just two more to go and I can’t even rest?” He said, finally helping Nikita up, he stood too.

“What is she, to you?” Das asked, gesturing at Nikita.

“My…. Reason to smile” he said

“What?’

” Yeah dad, I don’t care what you think..but she is” he replied

” This is driving me crazy…you’re not the Austen I know, what the heck got into you” Das said

” She….got into me” he replied and Das grunted, he looked at them somehow before going out.

Austen walked closer to Sara and frowned

“If this is what you came to do, then I’m afraid you won’t last” he said and went back in.

Nikita sat in front of the laptop and started playing her usual game while Sara stared on angrily.

Sunshine high**

“What do you think you’re doing!” BB shouted when Drew got to the science lab with her, she’s breathing heavily.

“You like trouble so much don’t you?” He said

” You don’t even know what happened!” She shouted

” Melissa and Halsey were making Olive eat forcefully, so what?’ he said

“What!”

“Violence is not the only way to settle” he said

” Olive is my friend” she replied

” She’s not my enemy, learn how to sort things out without using violence, you’re too violent” he replied

” You know nothing about me” she replied

” Says who?, Brinkley Bright Marshalls…a f*cking violent tomboy who hates rich people cos they murdered her parents” he said

” How did you…

“I have my ways…” He replied and she grabbed his shirt.

“How much more do you know” she demanded

“Why?”

” Have you been stalking me?, You think you can do anything you want because you’re rich?’ she said loudly

“Stalking you?”

“I don’t trust rich people, everyone of you are inhumane!, I hate you all!” She screamed.

” Calm down” he said

” How can I calm down when they were murdered in the cruelest way ever, you’ll never know how it feels to see the dead bodies of your parents with their eyes gouged out of their bodies” she said with tears in her eyes.

” What!, Eyes… gouged out?” He said shockingly.

” Rich people are worse, I don’t even know why I’m talking to you” she said and stormed down the place.

Drew stood stupefied, swallowing hard at what he just heard.

BB got to the hallway that led to class and saw Eddy coming down that way.

“Hey I’ve been searching for you” he said and she sniffed, wiped her tears before rushing to hug him .

“What!, Bright?” Eddy said shockingly

*BB just hugged me?*

“Rich people are bad” she cried

“What happened?” He said, hugging her back slowly

” I’m just sad” she replied slowly

” Lean on me till you’ll be better” he said and she nodded, hugging him tighter.

Drew came out of the lab and Immediately he saw them like that, he snuck back in.

He peeped out again and sighed before walking out

He walked past them, pretending not to see them.

BACK IN CLASS**

“It’s been long since I gave group assignments” the ethics teacher said after her class and the students groaned

Group assignments are always fun but stressful

“So now I’m splitting you into groups of threes, for the assignment” she continued and wrote the questions on the board.

She rolled papers and everyone picked round.

“Group one?” BB said

“Group 4” Eddy said

“Same here!, Group 4″ Olive said happily.

” Group…. one” Drew said

“Group one” Melissa smiled.

” Group four” Kayla said and Melissa sticked out her tongue at her.

That’s the last class for the day so immediately it ended, the closing alarm rang and they all started deciding who’ll be the group leader in each group, the members of each group will have to go to the group leader’s house for the assignment.

“You should be the leader” Kayla said to Olive

“Me?, Can you come to my poor house?” Olive said and Kayla smiled.

” It was built with money too and besides, you’re more brilliant so you should be the leader” Kayla replied.

*Eddy I think you should be” Olive said

” No, you should” Eddy replied and Olive smiled

” So, 8pm at my house, give me your number, I’ll text you the address” Olives said and Kayla gave her the phone.

Melissa and BB glared at each other till Drew interfered.

“Who’ll be the leader?” He asked

“Ion care about whoever will be” BB rolled eyes

” You should be, you’re the most brilliant anyways” Drew said, facing BB

” And how the hell do you expect me to go to a filthy house like hers, I care about my health a lot” Melissa scowled

” I don’t welcome midgets in my house too” BB replied

“Did you just call me midget?” Melissa frowned.

“So….my house….8pm” Drew said and looked at BB before leaving.

“Yes!” Melissa smiled.

MM group of companies**

“You’re giving a presentation tomorrow at the workers meeting” Das said Immediately Austen entered his office

” The meeting has been fixed since last week and you personally said you’d be handling the presentation, why are you just telling me right now” he said

” I told you to always prepare for emergency Austen” Dad replied, wearing his glasses.

” Austen?, Not killer anymore?” Austen said

“Well… prepare well for the presentation” Das replied and he started leaving the office

“That girl…you like her?” Das suddenly asked and Austen looked back swiftly

” Do I have to tell you before you know?, And it’s not like, it’s love…L..O..V..E” Austen said and left immediately.

Das sighed and rest back on his chair.

Austen got to the park with Nikita and helped her into the car

“You don’t have to drive home with me” he said to Ray

” Are you ok?, You look tensed” Ray asked

” I’m ok, see you tomorrow” he replied and got in too

Sara glared at then hatefully as she stood beside her car in the park, a wicked smile escaped her lips

“I guess I’ll have to go extra miles now since you guys want that” she said hatefully before

The drive to Nikita’s house was silent, none said a word.

Nikita tried countless times but she figured out that she should maybe…. give him some space.

They got to her house and she stepped out of the car by herself.

She shut the car and started walking in by herself till Austen held her, she stopped

“Are you mad at me?” He asked

“No, I should be the one asking that question” she replied

” Why?”

” You didn’t talk since we started the drive” she replied

” I was just….ok I’m sorry” he said

” I get worried a lot when you don’t talk to me so… please don’t go mute like that again, I really get worried” she said and smiled before going in.

Austen banged his hand on his car and spent over five minutes standing there before driving home.

He got his journals and tab to search for articles that’ll help in his presentation tommorow but he found that hard, her eyes when she was talking earlier looked hurt.

He stood and got his phone , he dialled her line but it’s off

“Oh” he said and dropped the phone.

He sat back on the chair and sighed, he unknowingly slept off

Austen has been walking for almost an hour, seems like he’s looking for something desperately

His brows is sweaty and his legs are tired, he’s just trying.

It’s a dark street with lots of trees, the trees branches were blown by the air as he walked and the air is so chilly and eerie

“Mum” he whispered when he suddenly saw a figure in front of him…

She faced him slowly and his eyes widened

“Mum” he whispered.

“Son” she smiled and started running to her but Immediately he got to him and hugged her, it turned to emptiness, she vanished.

“Mum…..mum!!, Mum!!!!!!!!!” He screamed tearfully before waking up to life.

He was sweating profusely and his heart was beating so fast.

“Mum” he whispered and stood, he went in and got his mother’s frame, he hugged it and sat on the bed

“Mum” he muttered, closing his eyes to release a small tear.

Drew’s place**

It’s the first time BB will be entering but despite the beauty of the mansion, she doesn’t look fascinated

She had to leave work early to come, all because of a darn assignment.

She got in after the door was opened by a maid, Melissa is already in the living room with Drew.

She sat without uttering a word and Melissa sneered at her.

She ignored everyone and brought out her books

“I looked up some notes online, send your number I’ll forward it to you” she said to Drew and he took his line, she forwarded it and Drew nodded as he looked at it

“Cool, I forwarded what I found to you too” he replied

“Oh” she said and checked it out

” Not bad” she said and looked at Melissa

“You came here to sneer or what?, You didn’t look up anything online?” She asked

” Must I?, You both did it so it’s enough” she replied

“I wonder why you come to school when you share a brain with your mum” BB muttered

” What!”

” You’re incredible, it takes a lot of effort to share a brain” BB winked and Melissa hit her hands on the table.

” Ugly toad” she said

“Irritating frog” BB replied

” You look like a dog’s poop if you don’t know” Melissa said

” A failed plastic surgery…that’s what you look like” BB replied

” Enough please” Drew said.

” Drew I’m so hungry, have anything eatable?” Melissa said, standing up

“Whoever gave you the idea of coming to school is insane” Drew said

” Say what you want baby, I’ll always let you go cos I love you” she winked and BB yawned.

” Feeling sleepy?” Drew asked

“No, let’s be fast and finish up within thirty minutes” she replied though she lied about not feeling sleepy, she’s damn sleepy right now.

“Ok” Drew smiled and Melissa made her way to the freezer, she came back with milkshake which she sipped as the two wrote the assignment.

BB has barely finished writing her part when her eyes turned blurry and her head fell on the table, she slept off.

“Can’t believe this” Melissa said but Drew only smiled.

“We’re done with it, you can go home” he said

” Me?, What about her?” Melissa said

“I’ll take care of her, leave” he replied

” No, if she’s not leaving then I’m staying too” she replied and tried to wake her but Drew took her hand and grabbed her bag, he dragged her out of the house before throwing her bag at her.

“Leave…. goodnight” he said and shut the door before going back in

” That witch” he said, sitting beside BB again, he took her note and wrote the remaining one before packing up into her bag.

He shifted the books to one side of the table before placing his head on it, looking at her face.

“How could she sleep off suddenly” he said

“She must be so tired” he smiled and touched her hair lightly.

“You really hate all rich people?, That includes me….why do I feel like going poor” he whispered.

He kept staring and smiling for almost two hours before he slept off unintentionally too.
