HIS LUCKY STAR - EPISODE 23 AND 24

Nikita never struggled, she just sat right there on his laps, allowing him to rest on her, he tightened his hands on her tummy and she took a slow breath

“Mr Austen” she called but he kept quiet

“Mr Austen” she called again but he won’t answer,,

” Austen” she called

“Hmn” he replied slowly

“So you were purposely not answering” she said

” cos you didn’t call my name right” he whispered and she smiled

” Do you feel better now? ” She asked

” Yes, I’m getting better, I just don’t know but holding you makes me feel better anytime” he replied

She kept quiet and after the promised two minutes, Austen took his head away from her back, he helped her up and he stood too

“Thanks for letting me” he said and she sighed before pointing her palm forward

” What?” He asked

“Money for resting on me” she said and Austen chuckled

” How much do you want?” He asked

“Maybe…. Millions of dollars?” She said

“You’re not an item for sale, you’re more than money” he said and she smiled

” Thought you were gonna give me, I’d have concluded that you’re taking me for granted” she said

Austen cane to her and held her shoulders. “I’ll never do that Nik, trust me” he said and she nodded

” I’ll try” she smiled and he pulled her into a warm embrace, surprisingly…she hugged him back

“And I want to tell you something” he whispered into her ear

“Oh..” she said expectantly

” You’re really pretty, sincerely the prettiest lady I’ve ever set my eyes on, maybe that’s why I haven’t been able to take my eyes off you since then” he said

” Are you handsome?” She asked and Austen giggled

” You’ll find out by yourself one day”

“I hope so” she replied

“And.., do you mind going out with me someday?, Just to have fun” he said, breaking the hug

She waited for a while, thinking about what to say

“Say something please, we won’t do it if you say we shouldn’t” he said though his voice shoes how much he really wants this

“We should go anytime you want, I’ll go with you” she said and his eyes brightened up

” Really?”

” Yes…to be honest Mr Austen, I feel comfortable and safe around you too, I feel happy too though we met not long ago….but you’re the best man I’ve ever met besides my late dad” she said seriously

” So far you’re in this office, so far I still remain Austen Malcolm, I promise that….no harm will come over you…I promise, I’ll protect you” he said and she smiled widely

” Thanks… I feel safer” she said and Austen stroked her hair fondly.

Sunshine high school clinic**

BB woke up feeling much better, the headache is gone and her body feels normal, she detected she’s on a bed and quickly sat up

“Bright you’re awake” Eddy said quickly beside her

“How did I get here?” She asked, remembering she passed out on the rooftop where Drew was

*I took you from Drew and rushed here” Eddy replied, arranging her hair but she hit his hand away

“I can help myself” she said, arranging it by herself while getting down from the bed

“The doctor said it might not be up to an hour before you wake up but you took so long, this is past one, just one class left before the closing alarm will sound” Eddy said

” Even better” she replied, putting on her shoes, she started walking out of the ward while Eddy followed,,

“Bright” he called but she kept walking without answering

“Brinkley” he called again but she won’t answer till he pulled her hand and made her face him forcefully

“Are you always like this?, Do you know how worried I was?” He said

BB took her hand away from him quickly

“Why would you be worried about me” she said

“I don’t like the way you’re talking right now, we live together and you’re my friend too, then you expect me not to feel sad when you suddenly passed out?, Then you woke up and didn’t even give me the chance to ask how you’re feeling or if you’re feeling better, it’s unfair’ he said seriously and BB sighed before dipping her hand into her hair

“Ok I’m sorry, I was just furious that I passed out in front of Drew” she said

” And you decided to take out your furiousness on me?” He said

” Teddy you …

“It’s ok” he cut her off and started leaving but she rushed to block his way

“Are you annoyed?, The baby Teddy is angry?” She said

He made to take the right but she blocked him, he tried taking the left too but she did the same

“Ok sorry once again….I won’t say it thrice so it’s better you take it now” she said and Eddy scoffed

” Thug” he muttered and she smiled, looking his neck in her arm as she pulled him back to the school, Olive left some hours ago..

“So….you frequently get fever?” He asked

“Since my parents death, I get this agonizing fever frequently, I dunno why but maybe because I miss them a lot” she replied,her mood changing to sad

Eddy noticed that and poked her cheek suddenly

“Hey!” She almost shouted and he laughed

“Silly Teddy” she smiled as they entered the class, the last teacher for the day is already in

“Eddy Magnus, BB…why are you guys just coming?” The teacher questioned

” He was sick , I took him to the clinic” BB replied and Eddy gasped

” I was the one who took you to…..

BB quickly covered his mouth and dragged him to his sit. “Shhhh, talk or die” she said meanly and everyone laughed as she went to her seat

Drew raised his head from his books and gave her a long glance

She doesn’t look like the girl who passed out the other time, how can she be perambulating around all existing personalities???

BB suddenly looked at him and he quickly looked away after receiving a glare from her

Melissa saw that and held her pen tighter . “How dare she glare at him”

Her mind went to the meeting with the Kaz family that’s coming up tomorrow and she smiled

“I’ve watched films like this several times, even when the male lead hates the female lead, he’d have no choice but to date her once his parents are involved, I should get ready for engagement soon, Drew will soon be slipping an engagement ring into my pretty finger” she thought and smiled widely

Eddy looked over at Bright, too bad she’s focused on the board, not looking sideways….her dedication to anything she puts her mind on is second to none

He felt a cute smile escape his lips as he stared at her … Not until Olive tapped him

“Huh” he said, waking up from his daydream

” Focus on the board” she whispered and he faced the board

Olive looked at BB and sighed. “She’s pretty, even as a tomboy….she’s obviously cute” she thought, feeling inferior immediately.

The closing alarm sounded immediately after the last class and BB grabbed her bag

“Pizza deliveries, I have to go fast” she said

“Wait” Eddy said, carrying his bag and following her

“Olive I’ll see you tommorow bye!” He said hurriedly, leaving the class

Olive sat back on her chair and inhaled softly. “It’s not funny anymore” she thought

Park**

Drew waited impatiently for his driver to show up but he won’t, he has been waiting since some minutes ago and he’s really getting impatient cos he has a shoot to go for an hour from now… before he’ll go home and eat, dress up and drive there, it’ll surely take more than an hour and he’s running late already

He dialled his driver’s line again but he’s still not picking

“F*ck him!, Shit!” He ranted, hitting his shoe on the tyre

He can’t drive, the first time he drove was when he hit BB and Eddy, he can’t make same mistake again,

He’d have taken the bus but not in this lifetime…he can’t enter that shit …. Cabs looks uncomfortable to him too, he just feels uncomfortable in any car that’s not his own

He kept trying his driver’s line till Melissa appeared. “Your driver is unavailable?, You can drive with me” she offered

He glared at her and kept trying the number

” Drew it’s not fair, at least say something, stop leaving me hanging…you love doing that and I hate it” she said

Drew turned his back on her and she smiled. “No matter what you do, you’ll forever remain the guy I love” she said

” Faster, I have to get to the pizza shop as fast as possible” BB said, rushing down the park with Eddy

” Your legs are too long, I can’t walk as fast as you’re doing” he complained

” Then come separately” she replied and made to rush out of the school but when she saw Drew beside his car with his phone and Melissa beside him, she smiled knowingly and walked to them

“What’s she trying to do” Eddy wondered

She got to Drew and snatched his phone from him, leaving him in surprise

She looked at the phone and saw DRIVER, she gave him his phone and he took it slowly

“Driver not picking your calls?” She said

“What are you doing here?” Melissa questioned, coming closer

” Hey crayfish…. just stay away I beg you, I really don’t want to wound anyone today” she replied

” Crayfish?, Did you just address the only daughter of Das Malcolm as crayfish?” Melissa said shockingly

” Only daughter of Das Malcolm?, I’m the only daughter of Vic Marshalls too you spoilt daughter of an ape…. My parents might be late but I still have the dignity your parents lack” she replied seriously

“Vic Marshalls?, Her surname is Marshalls?….so…she’s Brinkley Bright Marshalls… strange but cute name” Eddy thought

” My parents lack dignity?” Melissa said

“You can decide to bring out your phone and record it….they lack dignity…dig…ni…ty!” BB said and Melissa came closer

” No this is not right” Eddy said, sensing trouble, knowing that if Melissa makes the mistake of touching her, BB will wound her

Drew leaned on his car, watching everything like drama

Melissa grabbed BB’s hair and Eddy gasped

The students around are recording videos already,, Melissa is at it again

BB smiled, allowing Melissa to pull her short hair roughly

“Say that again!, Tell me my parents lack dignity” Melissa demanded

” Especially your mum, the first time I met her at the station, I knew she was brainless” BB said with a victorious smirk

” What!” Melissa said, letting go of her hair

“I’ve not met your dad but I’ve heard rumors about him too, I might decide that he’s senseless when I finally get to meet him” she said and Melissa gasped unbelievably..

BB smiled again and became serious..

“And you …. If stupid was a jet, I’m sure you’d fly” she said

” What!” Melissa said

” For pulling my hair, I’ll let you go…..I’m in a good mood today so you’re lucky cos if that isn’t the case, you’d be on your way to San Francisco right now after receiving a kick from me” BB said and snatched the car keys from Drew

“What are you doing” Drew said

“I can drive, let’s go” she said, opening the car and pushing him to the second front seat, she got in and sat on the driver’s seat before looking at Drew

“Use your seatbelt, I can’t promise your safety” she said and he gasped as she drove the car out of the school roughly, the students ran out of the way to avoid getting hit

“Whoo!!, BB Marshalls you rock!’ she screamed

Eddy stood stupefied, not understanding what just happened

“BB… just left with him?” He wondered

Melissa gasped and scoffed…

” Was that a dream?”

“, No!!!!!” Drew kept shouting as BB drove down the road, he has almost lost his lungs and he’s not as brave as he looks

BB’s drive was too rough and fast, he feels like they’re flying, his mouth was wide throughout as he kept shouting loudly

“Stop!!, Just stop the car!, My head might just fly off!, Please just stop!!!!” He screamed again and BB laughed, adding to her pace

“Oh no…..I’m about to die please!!!, Please stop!!!!” He screamed loudly again

” Where are you going to?” She asked

“Just stop already!!!, I’m not going anywhere!!!’ he shouted

“If you don’t tell me where you’re going, then I’mma drive you round the whole Texas till you run mad” she replied seriously

” Hot Faces studios…there” he replied fearfully and BB smiled before slowing down, Drew breathed hard in relief and BB drove slowly to the studio,,

She came down from the car and he did the same, his eyes are still turning slightly and his system is in disarray

“Thanks..I had fun hearing you scream” she winked and bounced off, luckily the pizza shop is not so far from the studio so she plugged in her earpiece, listening to her best song and singing along as she walked fast

* I came to win…. to fly…

She got there and met Mister Rick frowning

“Thought you’d still be in jail” he said

“I came back with a lot of money Mister Rick, how much is the bike worth, I’ll give you right now” she said

” Really?, The receipt is still on the counter,you can go check it” Rick said and she went for it

” Fifty thousand dollars…. I’ll send it to your account right now” she said and Rick called his account number slowly, taking it as a joke

He saw the alert and looks shocked

“BB!”

“I’m a star…. don’t you agree?” She winked

“I’ll get another bike before tommorow then but for today, deliver with cabs” Rick said

” Where are the others?” She asked

“They went to deliver already, quick you need to go right now….pick the address on the table” Rick said and BB smiled as she walked to pick it

MM group of companies**

“Wait here for me, I’ll see dad for five minutes, don’t move Please…don’t move” Austen said when he got to the front of his dad’s office with Nikita

“Ok boss” she replied and he stroked her hair lightly before going in, Das was sitting regally on his chair when he entered

“I’m here* he said politely

” Tommorow is the business meeting with the Kaz and Fabio family in California, go in my place” Das said

” Why are you just telling me this now?” He replied

“You mean emergencies aren’t allowed?” Das replied

” And why would you even want a murderer to represent you?” Austen said

” I’m scared too…..but I’m sick, I can’t possibly go in my weak state” Das replied

” You’re unwell?, Dad are you ok?” He asked worriedly

“Just do what I asked….the meeting will be in form of a dinner so you’ll have to go early tommorow, it’ll be attended by the Kaz, the Fabios…. and we…. I was supposed to go with Jillian but I’m too weak, you can’t go alone, go with someone, you can hire a girl or something… Mr Fabio’s wife is out of the country at the moment so he’s coming with her daughter….her name is Sara….you should meet her” Das said

” For what?’ Austen asked

“Just meet her…you know what I mean” he replied and Austen scoffed

” I’ll be an obedient son and attend it like you want….but I ain’t meeting any f*cking Sara” he replied and stormed out of the office

He grabbed Nikita’s arm and drew her with him till they got out, he helped her into the car and came in too, the driver started the drive

Nikita can feel he’s not in his usual mood so she searched for his hand and held it, that made him look at her

“Sorry for not talking..I was just annoyed’ he said

“I understand, he must have said something to annoy you again but don’t take it to heart” she said

” I’ll try” he replied

” Please” she said and he smiled

“Thanks for making me smile again…by the way…. tommorow….will you…..go to California with me?* He asked awkwardly

“Huh?, Why?” She asked

“I…. need to attend a meeting in dad’s place and…I…kind of can’t go alone….I have to go with a girl” he said awkwardly

” Oh….” She said slowly

” Please….I can’t rent a girl, I just can’t” he said

” I’ll think about it” she replied

” Tommorow morning is the flight” he said

“Mr Austen… Eddy will….

“I’ll talk to him I promise, I’ll go home with you and talk to him” he said

” Ok .. ” she said

” So ..if Eddy agrees, you’ll go with me?” He asked

“I’m not sure’ she replied and he sighed

“I understand” he smiled and started the drive home.

Eddy has been at home since some hours ago…. He’s expecting his sis but most especially BB to come back

He stared at his phone for the uptenth time then looked at the way that led to the house,, since BB left with Drew, he has been restless… He’d have gone to the pizza shop to check but he tried to hold himself till now

“Will she still be with him?” He wondered loudly ….

“I’m restless I swear, come quick” he said and made to go in but the sound of the bike made him stop

He turned back and saw her bringing the bike to an halt, coming down from it…. it’s surprising that she came back early

“Hey baby Teddy!, I got our dinner!” She said loudly, walking to him with two packages but immediately she got to him, he hugged her tightly, closing his eyes on her shoulder, inhaling her natural body scent

“I missed you” he whispered and BB giggled before pushing him away…

“Who let you escape from the mental hospital when you’re not ok yet?” She glared and started walking in but he walked senselessly to her again and hugged her from behind

“I’m serious… I missed you” he whispered again.
