“Spit it out here,” Thaddeus’ gaze was locked onto Evadne. Jareth frowned, not sure how to start the conversation. “Thad, Thad!” Suddenly, a shout echoed, sending chills down Jareth’s spine. Marilla was startled awake by the sound, her eyes snapping open, and she clutched onto Evadne’s clothes. “What’s going on? Has something happened to Mr. Hamiltion?” “Chill out, Marilla. With me around, how can anything happen to Mr. Hamiltion?” Evadne cast a cold glance at Acacia, and then helped Marilla up as she a**ured her, “Marilla, let’s go rest. Thaddeus felt as if his heart had been shot, the pain making it hard to breathe. “Thad!” Acacia’s eyes were swollen from crying. She tried to throw herself at Thaddeus but was stopped in her tracks by Jareth. “Ms. Acacia, you should go to the hospital to see Mr. Stirling, then look for a lawyer to help your Mrs. Stirling. That’s what you should do right now.” Acacia seemed to ignore Jareth’s words and continued to cry and shout, “I’ve been framed! I’m the victim! Thad, you must believe me.
