HIS 90 DAYS BRIDE - Episode 41
Adriana woke up , feeling a bit tired as she stared round. Davis wasn’t on the bed with her..
She exhaled sharply, remembering the mild love-making they had hours ago… She unconsciously blushed.. signifying how much she’ve missed him..
His kisses…
His touch.
Her hand practically rubbed her stomach… Feeling happy that there’s a child in there. A child waiting to call her mommy very soon.
If only there was a way she could continue to be Davis wife and grow the child together. With him.
She sighed out.
Well, she isn’t giving up.
She still has hope that someday, She’ll definitely be with Davis … Not minding the contract, it’s gonna be for real.
Slowly, she climbed down the bed and walked into his shower where she had a cool bath for long minutes.

Ethan gulped hard.
He wasn’t daydreaming or something. This was his father in flesh and blood. Not some ghost.
” Dad…?”
The word unconsciously slipped out from his lips.
The surprise on his father’s face would have been translated into words if only his mouth wasn’t gagged..
” Why do you have him? Don’t tell me he’s been kept hostage all these while?”
He asked. Feeling confused as fvck.
Ciara nodded.
” You guys literally buried an empty coffin. Conducted a fake burial… All thanks to me. ” She smiled broad..
Wrapping her both arms Akimbo.
Ethan’s mouth parted in shock.
” Father has been alive… And…. ” He paused.
Taking a closer look at Ciara who still had a devilish smile, lingered on her face.
” You’re a devil. ” He chuckled.
” If that’s a compliment, then I’m sure to be grateful. ” She blew a warm air from her lips.
” What really happened Ciara. I mean,… Everyone thought you died. But you’re here with me , a changed person. ”
Ethan finally asked.
It’s a question he’s been wanting to ask.
” To everyone I died. I won’t deny that. I truly died. Because father killed me. I won’t blame mom for anything. She was helpless. Father made everyone thought me dead. But somehow, I’m here. ”
She smiled, slowly walk-in out of the hostage room with Ethan behind.
” I still don’t get it. Everyone knew you had a heart failure … Did father cause that?.”
Ciara paused… Then shook her head.
” No. … You see. That day, unlike the rest days the pain got worse. I was taken to the hospital by mom. Dad as always refused to come with us. He’s always like… I’m busy. Take her there yourself. … I’ll get a doctor to treat her… Blah blah blah.
But you know what??…. ” She paused amidst her words. Pushing another Door open.
” What baffled me most was how dad cherished Davis… To dad, he was the only one that mattered. I didn’t. Because I’m a girl and like a technical because man he was, he cherished that fact and treated Davis better.
He literally gave him all the attention even when I was sick and dying. He never for once came to the hospital to visit the doctor since his presence was requested. He never came.
Though I was little, I understand the things around me. And I knew the meaning of parental love.
Dad saw how my health issues was disturbing mom’s own health.. seeing we always went to the hospital everyday and to him, it felt like a waste of time,… He literally suggested I began staying in the hospital. Mom was against it at first, she felt I won’t be given the attention I needed but as dad being dad,.he always have his way..
The next day I was a registered patient in the hospital. And slowly,… Everyone forgot me. No. message from family.
Mom wasn’t coming as usual. I knew it’s dad’s doing but still, I blamed her. She could have fought to come see me… But no.
My twelvth birthday was the worst day ever. No wishes.. just a regular faces of the nurses who always came to check on my health and how my heart was slowly dying everyday.
Everyone forgot my birthday… Everyone abandoned me. But Davis….
Davis replaced me.
Davis seventh birthday was celebrated in a grand style. I wasn’t there. But I had to watch painfully on my sick hospital bed.
The merriment on everyone’s face especially dad’s was something that ate me up the television didn’t do me justice that night. That night,… I cried my eyes out.
That night, I wanted to die..
That night,…
I ran out of the hospital. I left,.. no one noticed me.
I guess that’s where everyone thought I died.
Because they literally didn’t bother to look for me.
I was dead to everyone.
And I still remain dead. Till I take back everything that was ever taken from me.
But did I really escape my own heart issues?…
No. I didn’t.
I literally had to face pain on my own.
Back then in the hospital. I remember the doctor telling my dad on phone that I needed a transplant as Soon as possible because the condition was critical.
What did my so called father do?.
Nothing!.
Not like he didn’t have the money.
He had it.
But he wouldn’t prefer using the money on someone he sees no future in..

While growing up with my father,… I knew he never loved me. And I never loved him too. But he was my father,… And there was nothing I could do about that.
Along my struggle in the streets,… I met dangerous kids.
I gambled.
I lived with theifs… And so, … I became one.
I joined in the street live and luckily, I was never a weakling in their eyes.
It was hard gaining their trust. It was hard Makin them see me as a strong person. Life was hard but somehow, I scaled through.
Five months I lived without telling them my heart issues. I tried to hide it. But it failed me…
They got to know… But you know what suprised me?..
They never abandoned me.
Those kids showed me love.
They literally robbed from bigger houses to get money from my treatment …. What my father couldn’t do, my street family did it.
And I became well.
I became well.
The streets accepted me. The street gave me back my sanity.
The street showed me the love that everyone denied me was given to me in a platter of gold by some street family.
And when I finally turned twenty three. I decided it was time I face my family and take back everything that’s mine.
Every damn thing my father denied me.
And i vowed that father would be alive to watch Davis die… ”
Ciara smiled a weak smile after an emotional narration.
” I never knew this part of your story. ”
” It’s not something I don’t love talking about. ”
She retorted.
….” So…. Now you have father,… What do you do with Davis?”
” You’ll see. ”
She cocked a dry smile.
Litting up her cigeratte.
******
Adrianna’s pov.
I got dressed into a simple outfit feeling so refreshed than ever. It obvious why I feel this way.
I walked out of Davis room,… And from the little information I got from mom, Davis isn’t around. He went out moments ago.
I retired back to my room but not without some fruits.
Damn I was craving for fruits so bad. Oranges precisely
I relaxed a bit on the sofa,.. sucking and chewing on the orange when my phone suddenly beeped.
It was a message from a strange number.
” Meet me at,.. St Peter’s . I have something to discuss with you. ”
I read out with a furrowed brow.
Who’s this?
I shrugged it off like it’s nothing.
Why would a strange number message me with such content.? If the world isn’t really a crazy place.
Beep.
Another message popped in.
” It’s about your husband. ”
I heart skipped a million times when I read the last message.
” What about him?”
I typed back. My hands a bit shaky.
” Just come.”
The unknown replied.
I exhaled sharply.
*******
Davis walked into the house, Makin sure he wasn’t seen by anyone.
He shut the door behind,.. breathing in the cold but familiar scent.
” You’re here again”
The cold voice spoke out.
” Yes. ”
” That means you’re ready.”
” Yes. Let’s proceed. ”
Davis pulled off his suit … Leaving him in just his white sleeve as he took a seat on the armless chair.
