” So, this is Ethan. The CEO of Orland companies?.”
I stared at the picture. A dry smile on my lips.

Why am I getting to know about him recently?.

” I hear he’s a great threat to Davis .”

Chloe added.

I smiled. ” Well, that means he is trouble himself. We’ll go a long way in achieving a common goal together then. ”
I returned the phone to Chloe who took it immediately.

” What goal?”

” Taking Davis out. ”

” And what if, he disagree to your proposal?”

” He won’t. He needs me. After all…”
I picked a glass containing red wine and took a quick sip.

” We’re blood. And blood look after each other. ”

” I see what you did there…” A naughty grin appeared on Chloe’s face. Making my smirk grow bolder..

Betty scoffed. Remembering what Happened yesterday.
She stared ruefully at the driver and slapped him.

” You failed me.”

” I’m sorry ma’am. I had to be careful. Davis has a close watch on her. I couldn’t do anything. ”

I snorted.

” Making you Adrianna’s driver only got you weaker thano. I’m disappointed. ” I frowned deep.

Thano rubbed his chin and as if he remembered something, dipped his hand into his pockets and brought out a sheet of paper.

” I found this in her bag which she left in the car when your men took her. ”

” What business do I have with a paper?” I eyed him.

Thano is pissing me off right now.
Thano is my best man especially when it comes to task. But he fvcked up. Big Time.

Recently, I planted him in Davis mansion as he was made a personal driver to Adrianna. Davis goddamn wife.

The plan was to drive her to her death. But I don’t know what got into his head and he fvcking messed up.

I exhale deep. Taking the sheet away from him.

I could have rid her off yesterday. Getting pregnant for Davis .. makes her legally his wife and sole owner of his properties. Especially with her unborn child.

” And why is that?” I stared at him. Confusion dancing in my eyes.

” I was fired. Just This morning. ”
Thano burst the bubbles.

” He got to know his wife used a taxi back home yesterday evening. He questioned me when I returned last night eventually with the car. I told him I had a slight problem with it and actually took it to the mechanic. He was upset… But told me to go home. So this morning, I received an alert. It’s my daily payment and a text message saying I’m fired. ”

” That’s all?” I scoffed.

I know Davis. He won’t just fire him unless he suspects something.

” That’s all.” He retorted.

A weak smile appeared on my face.

I exhaled. Seeing him sit on his bed.

He looked up, staring at me. But said nothing.

” I’m sorry. ”
I moved away from the entrance, shutting the door behind.

He chuckled.
I don’t know why he did that but I didn’t care.

I walked closer and sat beside him.

” I said I’m sorry. For saying all those. I have anger issues. ”

” I know. ” He cut in..” there’s no need to be sorry “..

” No. I over reacted. ”

” You over reacted because you saw the need to. Maybe it’s true. Maybe I’m selfish. ”

I sniffed.
Feeling so bad now.

” You aren’t. You’re the nicest person I’ve ever come across. You helped me even when I had no body. Let’s forget about the contract. Though you’re bossy. But you’re still nice ASF. Remember that night. You saved me and my baby brother. You aren’t selfish. You have a good heart. ”

He smiled.

A genuine one at that.

” Adriana. ” He called.

” Hmm,mm.”

” what if I haven’t been sincere too. About everything?” He began.

The moment he said that,..
I consciously held my stomach. Guilt flushing inside me as I remembered the fact that I still haven’t told him I’m pregnant..

” There are things I wish I told you. Right from the start. So it doesn’t seem like I used you. ”
He moved his gaze to mine.

There was a small silence between us.

Unlike before, I felt really comfortable, staring at him. Our eyes still locked as lots of thought ran through my head. I wanted him to touch me. Hold me. Or still, kiss me.

Even since I confessed my feelings to him, he hasn’t done that. Well, I didn’t let him do any of that seeing our feelings are not mutual after all. I realized the more we get closer the more I’m hurt. And it seemed like he didn’t care.
So I thought.
And that’s what I still think. Because he agreed to everything.

” Davis…”

He shut me up with a kiss.
I really want to kiss back, but no. I pulled away from him. I don’t like feeling used.

” Sorry. ” He breath out. Looking away.

” Davis. ” I called again.

” Yes?” He answered.

” There’s something I have to tell you. ”

He nod. Urging me to go on..

I sulked in a deep breath before mustering a little courage to say it.
” I’m pregnant. ”

Ethan dropped the files on his desk Looking so tired

his door pushed open. Making him jerk a little.

He look up.
Before him appeared a lady.
Which on a normal day he would have been pleased to see such elegant sexy in his office but seeing how rude she was to have barged in, caused a deep frown on his face. .

” Did you miss your way?..”
He asked. Staring at the lady as she gawked at everywhere in his office.

,” Oh. Pardon my manners. ”
She flashed him a toothy grin then walked forward and sat on a vacant seat. Directly opposite him.

” I don’t have any appointment today. ”
He sighed out. Still wondering how she managed to get in. Despite the series of instruction he gave to his secretary.

” I know. But I have an appointment with you. ” She replied instead.

” Interesting. ” Ethan mumbled. Facing her with a serious interest.

” I’m here because of Davis Gregg. ”

He scoffed. ” We may be step Brothers but we certainly don’t look alike. ”

” I’m not blind either.” She cut in.

Ethan nodded. Feeling so interested in the bold lady before him.

” I know you want your brother totally out of the way. ” She began.

” Everyone knows that. But news flash young lady. ”

He lean forward. His elbow pressing his desk.

” I’ve long moved away from that. We both got our lives to live. And I’m living mine. Away from trouble. ”

” You are trouble itself. ” She retorted.

” Everyone knows that too. So please can you leave my office now?”

He was getting tired of her presence already.

” I know you still want Davis out of your way. ”

” Leave now. ” He cut in.

” We can get him out of the way,.. together. ”

Ethan paused for a while. A mockery laugh escaped his lips.

” You and I know you can’t take him out Alone. That’s why I’m here?”

” Who the fvck are you?. And why do you want to meddle in something that doesn’t even concern you. ” He rolled his eyes.

” we are both fighting for what we were deprived off.”

” What do you mean we?” He frowned .
To him, she sounds insane. So insane that he’d really want to throw her out of his office.

” My name is Ciara. You can call me Ciara Gregg. And Davis, is my brother. ”

Ethan’s mouth parted in shock.

” No. ” He shook his head. Staring in bewilderment.

It can’t be Ciara.

” Oh, yes it’s me. And I think it’s time you officially welcome me. Step-brother”

An evil smirk displayed on her lips as she dropped her bag on Ethan’s desk.
