HIS 90 DAYS BRIDE - EPISODE 32

ADRIANNA’S POV

He parked safely beside the house and I got down without hesitation.

Walking briskly towards his mansion, I hear his footsteps behind.

” Not even a thank you for saving your arse?.. you gonna act grumpy all of a sudden”

I stopped.
Turning around with a deep sigh.

” Thank you”

I said and returned in my movements. I didn’t know why I kept feigning angry, was it the fact that he scolded me for being disobedient?… Or the fact of seeing leo today.

Gosh that guy got some nerves to even show his face to me.

I walked in, my steps tapping the floor relentlessly.
I felt his hand pull me from behind.

He drew me backwards and I slammed my face against his Rocky chest.
Jeez. He’s one hell of a tall guy.

” Why are you angry?”

I arched a confused brow, hearing his question.

” Don’t act ignorant. You are angry, it’s all over your face.”
He pin-pointed.

I pulled away from him, strapping my arms Akimbo.

” You called me stupid. ”

I frown deep.

” That?”
He let out a slight chuckle.

I gave him a “what’s funny look” …

” You disobeyed me silly. You got me worried ,. I told you not to go out. What if something bad happened to you. ?”

The deep worry in his face was strictly genuine.

But still,” why would something bad happen to me?”
I couldn’t help but ask. It’s not like it’s the first time I’m going out, is it?.

He blinked hard.

” Nothing bad is happening to you. I was just…” He trailed off.

There was a small silence, between us making us look so awkward.

He did something next which was really really weird.
He pulled me into a hug.

” I don’t want anything to happen to you. That’s all.” He whispered into my ears.

We were like that for few minutes before he pulled away.

” Nothing’s gonna happen to me I wonder why you make going out sound like something so dangerous.”

I retorted.

” There are some things I don’t expect you to understand now. But you’ll later. Some things which won’t look too funny to you,… When they start surfacing.”

Now he was speaking in parable.

I guess he noticed the confused look on my face cause he literally covered everything up with a smile.

” What did you go out to do?.”

He changed the topic.

” To get my favourite ice creams and some fruit. But sadly, I couldn’t get the fruits because of what happened earlier.”

I replied.

He smiled more.

Davis pov.

I couldn’t help but smile. She left the house to get ice cream and fruit..?

So silly.

” Don’t disobey me next time.”

I finalized, walking out on her.

My mind going circles with different thought.

Maybe I was wrong with everything after all. Maybe it was just me overthinking this shit.

It might be a coincidence that bad things always happen today in every year.

I could be wrong after all.

I exhaled sharply before walking into the inner room.

Writer’s pov.

” I almost did as you said. ”
His voice was awfully cold.

She chuckled… Her fingers Rubbing her temples.

“Almost”
She scoffed.

” How does almost get the job done?.. ” she threw him a death glare. Making him swallow hard.

He doesn’t know this lady too well but he sure can tell from her looks she’s nothing close to a nice lady.

” How does ‘almost’ get the job done?” She snapped.

” The plan was for you to bring her to me. What the fvck! I thought you dated this girl?… She’s still your girlfriend. If you weren’t too dumb you’d have been more useful to me.”

” You don’t understand. My plan was already in motion before he came and ruined everything.”

” Who came?”

” Her husband. Her husband came.”

” Hm. Davis.”

Her smile grew wider.

She walked closer to Leo and pushed him back a bit.

” Go.”

Leo didn’t wait for her to say it twice before he scrambled out.

He didn’t care about the pay any more. He failed to bring her, didn’t he?

The plan was to get paid #5000 dollars if only he could lure his beloved girlfriend to this lady who claimed Adriana was a bossom friend of hers.

But he failed.

Yes he did.
And he won’t go free.

” Shoot him.”

That was the order from the boss.

The gun was aimed at the back of his head.
Leo thought he was already far from their grasp.
But,..1, 2, 3….

The bullet was released straight into his head.

The loud sound from the bullet caused the birds to fly away.

Realizing the inevitable, Leo collapsed dead on a spot.

” Let’s go.”

She growled, getting into her black Jeep.

” It’s nice to see how well you keep messing my plans Davis. Let’s see how long you can keep with that. ”

For today, nothing happened… But what about tomorrow.

She’ll surely have her way with things.

With or without Davis.

Rachel returned from work that day looking so so exhausted.

” How was work?”

That familiar voice sounded from the dark, marking Rachel’s heart skip a bit.

Switching on the lights, she frowned.
” Will you stop doing that,?..”

” Sorry”

Betty mouthed, chewing on the cheese balls which was in a plate placed on her laps.

” How was work?”

” If this question is about Davis, newsflash, he didn’t come to office today. So plans failed. ”

Betty smacked.

” Okay”
She shrugged her shoulders. So engrossed in her cheese.

Rachel threw her a skeptical look. ” Okay?” That was all she said,?
Isn’t she angry she failed again,?.. isn’t she angry she couldn’t accomplish a …

” Hey. I don’t want you to get yourself worked up with what I said before. You can take things slowly with Davis. I don’t want you to get on his badside and ruin the reason i planted you in that company.”

Dropping the plate of cheese from her laps. She got up and walked towards her sister.

” Go have your bath. I have things under control. You can continue with your plans tomorrow,”
She smiled. Making Rachel feel really uncomfortable.

Her thoughts were…” Why was she acting all nice tonight?.. ever since they lost their dad, Betty has never been nice to anyone, not even to her. even when she left for new Jersey,.. she was never nice through phone. It wasn’t really easy for Rachel, adjusting to get new sister-like nature. She believed it was the trauma she passed through after their dad’s death. After he was murdered by …

“Can you hear me?”
Betty snapped her sister from her thoughts.

” Oh.” Realizing herself, she soiled her teeth. ” Yeah… I’ll do just that. ”
She picked her beg and walked out without hesitation.

The moment she left,

Betty brought out her phone. Dialing a number.

” Tell me, what have you got?”

Adriana walked into the sitting,.. from the look of things she just finished having her bathe. One could easily tell from her wet hair.

Davis sat engrossed, watching football that he almost didn’t notice her.

“Am I that invisible?”
She asked herself. Walking closer to get his attention.

” Hey.” She called, taking a seat on a different chair.

” Wassup.”
He replied. Still, not looking at her.

Adriana bit her lower lip. Her forehead turning almost red.

” Why do men act all dumb especially when watching football?”

She thought within.

Getting up, she changed her seat, sitting close to Davis.

The windows were open so it actually gave her some chilly bumps on her exposed skin. She had just a baggy shirt on, with a short lacy tight.

She rubbed her palms together to trap some heat.

” I feel cold”
She mutter.

” … Oh my goodness!!.. that was a pelnaty! Damn!”
Davis cussed under his breath looking so frustrated.

Adriana has never seen someone go crazy about football like Davis.

And to think he’s ignoring her because of a mere tv show got her even more upset.

” Davis. I said I’m cold.” She snapped.

Davis spared her a glance.

” You’re cold?.. it’s kinda cold in here. Why not go inside and get some sleep. It’s late already.” Davis suggested Returning his gaze back to the match.

” I don’t want to go inside. ”
She retorted.

Seeing Davis still engrossed in the tv show, she picked the remote and changed the channel.

” What was that for?”

” You seem lost. ” She frowned.

” You said you were cold and I suggested you go inside and sleep.”

” But I said I don’t want to go inside. ”
Davis sighed out.
” I can’t stop you from feeling cold if you stay out here with me. ”
He replied trying to make her see reason..

Adriana frowned.

” Can you change the channel back. Please”

” No. ” She shook her head.

” Please.”
His voice sounded urgent.

” I said no. ” She sternly replied.

Davis ran his fingers through his hair. Why is she so stubborn?..

” Okay, okay. What do you want?”

A small smile creased the corner of her lips.

” Your attention. ”

Davis arched his brow.

” I said I’m cold. Do something. ”

” Okay. ” He resolved.
Pulling her close to himself.
He had her head resting on his chest with her butt and laps, solely on his thigh..

He used his arm to wrap her.

” How do you feel now?.”

“If this is your idea of keeping me warm then it’s not wor—-

Before Adriana realise, he shut her up with a brief kiss. Using the opportunity to grab the remote from her hand.

” I got it. ” He broke the kiss. With a grin on his face.

Adriana rolled her eyes.

She made to get up from his body, when he pulled her back to himself, this time, his grip even more tight..

” Stay. ”

It was an order. Her small statue fitted perfectly on him.

Adriana smiled, her body relaxed more on his.

From the noise she heard from the TV. She knew he had changed the channel back.

She smiled to herself.. seeing him all serious again watching the show. She studied his face,.. taking notice of the thin dark spot on his left cheek. It would have been almost invisible for a proper view.

She could hear his heartbeat because her ear was pressed against his chest. The heart beat was calm,..like a drum in motion. She listened attentively to it like it was playing a song in her ears.

Stealing small glances at Mr handsome. She couldn’t help but have some tingling sensation.
Her eyes was slowly becoming heavier than before. She knew that sign. It’s the nature calling her to sleep.

Not ready to fight the tempting urge, she slowly drifted into Oblivion. Sleeping sound like a baby in it’s mother’s arms.
