HIS 90 DAYS BRIDE - EPISODE 31
Davis pov
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Dammit!
I threw the phone aside. She wasn’t taking her calls.
I hit the steering. Running my fingers through my hair. I can’t believe I’m so worried about someone who is so stubborn..
Stay back and don’t leave the house.
Puff. That’s when she decides to disobey. Where do I start to look for her?..
I have no clue.
I had to force myself to pull over , because I could feel my head spinning with so much panic.
I removed my hand from the steering when I felt the heavy ache, burning my insides.
It’s happening again.
My body was heating up and I felt my feets grow cold.
I stared at my face through the front mirror that was above my head,.. I wasn’t looking so good. Not at all.
My eyes, they were growing out of color…
My nose,.. it’s bleeding.
Quickly, I brought out my kerchief and wiped my nose to stop it from bleeding.
It’s only gonna stop if I decide to calm down.
How do I calm down when I don’t know if Adriana is alright?..
What if she’s in trouble?..
She’s all I can protect. She’s my responsibility because she is going to carry a greater responsibility for me.
She doesn’t have a clue to anything. That’s why I can’t put her safety in her own hands.
She really didn’t know what she sighed up for the moment she got married to me.

” The fvck Leo. Say something”
I stirred my juice with the orange pipe, waiting for him to break the cold silence that enveloped us.
We were sitted in one of the joints. He insisted we have a breif talk.
Well, I had a little time to spare.
” You look good”
He Managed to say.
” I know. ” I replied. Taking a sip.
” I look better than before.. and oh..” I continued with a smile.
Oh,… I wasn’t done yet. This cheating bast.ard doesn’t even have a slightest clue.
” Did I forget to mention that I’m happily married now?”
I grinned, showing off my left finger so he could see the expensive ring I had on it.
He was speechless for a moment, and it was taking a toll on my skin.
The news wasn’t a surprise to him.
I guess rumors fly so well.
” We never broke up.” He added.
” We didn’t have to. You cheated.” I replied with an eye roll.
” And what did you do?.. it’s barely a week and few days and you’re already married. It seems like you too had your own games to play .”
” I’ll just say, I didn’t place all my eggs into one basket.”
I replied, not feeling any sign of remorse or pity for him.
He smiled.
A smile which didn’t reach his eyes.
” That night you called. I’m sorry someone else picked up . I tried Calling back but you didn’t take any of the calls. The next day I came to your place and you weren’t there.. the neighbors said you guys already moved out. I looked for you Adriana. I swear. ”
Why was he saying all these?.. its useless now.
I had called him that night because he seemed to be the only one i could trust .. or I thought I could.
But surprisingly, he turned me down.
I don’t regret leaving him. Infact my greatest achievement is leaving him.
” Adriana..”
He reached for my hand which was on the table.
I quickly retrieve my hands.
” I couldn’t stand myself after that night Adrian. I want you back.”
I scoffed, unbelievably.
” You’re sick.”
I bluntly replied.
He shook his head in negation.
” I know what I’m saying. I want you back Adriana. I swear. ”
” I am married now dummy. Don’t you get it?.. it’s officially over between us.
I don’t even know why I’m here. ”
I got up that instant and made to leave.
He got up that same time, blocking my way.
” Are you seriously out of your mind?”
I asked, with an eye roll.
Why does things always have to be too hard for him?

After the tension has eased off a bit, and my body back to itself, I rolled back on the highway.
Each junction I passed, my eyes kept searching for her. I was moving with such slow pace in other not to miss her.
She earlier said she was going out to get something. She mustn’t be far.
The ringing tone of my phone snapped me out of my intense search. It was Rachel, my secretary.
” What?” I snapped.
Now wasn’t the time for her to call me. I’m not in the office and she’s supposed to fix things herself.
I mean, that’s why she’s the secretary.
” Sir… Uhm… I was.. just wondering why you aren’t in the office today.”
I scoffed, removing the phone from my ear to check the ID, just to be sure it’s Rachel I’m talking to.
Placing it back to, I clear my throat.
” I’ve you suddenly become an attendant?.. I’m not in the office, so what? You gonna fire me?..”
” No… Not really I just wanted to…ask..”
” Get yourself busy with something useful Rachel. I am your boss. You have no right to call me for baseless reasons.”
I hunged up,. throwing the phone aside.
Such nerves.

Rachel grunted hard.
Why is Davis so sledge-headed?. She gulped hard, bitting her lower lips tentatively.
Her hands clutched the lunch box ,. Feeling rather disappointed.
She knew this wasn’t gonna work out the first place.
Maybe it’s time to switch to plan B.

Adrian’s pov.
” Don’t leave yet. Let’s talk things out.”
I looked around with a scoff, just to be sure if leo was still talking to me.

” I’m married.”
I practically said that aloud. Waving my fingers in the air so whoever cares should see.
He looked really frustrated.
Yeah, my plans exactly. Frustrate him with a good news.
” Why are you doing this Adriana?”
He ran his fingers through his hair. Looking horrified.
” Doing what?”
I ask, innocently.
” After all these years,.. you gonna throw all that away?..”
He reached for my hand and held it with force.
” Let go of me!”
I yanked his hand away dipping my other hand into my bag in search of my phone.
Where did I drop it?..
I couldn’t find it. It got me thinking really hard.
Did I drop it in the taxi earlier?.. geez! I didn’t even know. It must have fallen off.
How do I reach Davis with the phone?..
” Adriana. ”
He reached for me again and I hit him across the face with my bag.
I wasn’t thinking..
No I was tensed.
I’ve got a missing phone to worry about. And not some ill-stricken ex.
He clenched his jaw and grabbed me by the arm..
” I’m not letting you leave my sight again. ”
Adriana didn’t know why he was doing this.. but it was seriously freaking her out.
” Fvcking let go of me.. you sonofabitch.!”
She scratched his face and he groaned.
They were about to make a scene. And that wasn’t what leo wanted. He needed to do this cool and gentle.
No need raising any alarm. He didn’t want attention.
If only he could just hypnotise her out of this rowdy place. Then he’s good.
” Leave me alone you psycho.”
He grabbed her by the arm.. pulling her so close to himself that no one would think he was being coercive here.
” Leo.,.. let me..g-
Before they knew it,.. a strong arm pulled leo from behind.
Leo couldn’t analyze the face before he received a heavy punch on his jaw bone.
” The lady said you should leave her alone. ”
Leo staggered.. he held his face, staring at the intimidating Stature.
” What’s your business anyway?.. she wasn’t complaining. Was she? She’s my sister so you better mind your fvcking business”
He tried to pull his stunt together by playing smart.
” Your sister?.. how come she never introduced you to be an inlaw?”
Leo blinked hard.
He stared at Adriana, and then back to the stranger.
” He is..
Adriana nodded with a proud smile.
” He is my husband.”
She mouthed raising her left finger which showed off her ring.
” Scramble ”
Davis shot him a death glare.
Leo knew a warning sign if he saw one, and this was one.
He picked to his heels before they knew it.
Such a lunatic.
Adriana exhaled with a big relief.
” And you…”
Davis faced her with angry eyes.
” I thought I told you not to…
He didn’t get to finish his words before Adriana pulled herself against his broadchest. Hugging him like her life depended on it.
Davis lost trail of his voice as he stayed mute and speechless.
After what seemed to be like forever , she finally disengage.. looking him in the eye.
Davis pov
” Yeah, I know what you’re gonna say. I’m stubborn and big-headed.. I don’t listen… ”
If only she knew she was way more than a big-headed-stubborn-little-theif. I watch her continue talking
“You warned me not to go out and blah Blah I disobeyed you. Yeah you can scold me. I get it.”
She stared at me with a plain innocent face.
I lost my balance.
I didn’t know why but after seeing the look on her face, .. and those eyes, I didn’t know what to say or how else to vent out my anger.
” That guy was going to kidnap you. ”
I began. With a rather soft sigh. I was damn worried.
I almost said that too, but suppressed it.
She nodded.
” You are very stubborn. ” I continued.
” I know.”
” You are big headed. ”
” I already said that. ” She added.
I pinched her nose.
..” and you’re blindly stupid for disobeying me.”
“What?” She scoffed.
Unbelievably.
” I’m not blind… Or stupid.” she replied back.
I tucked my hands into my pocket and began walking towards the car.
She picked up the pace and followed behind.
“Yes, you are. ” I repeated, twitching my lower lips to what seemed like a smile.
The panic and anger,… Slowly replaced with a calm feeling. I kinda liked it.
I stopped, abruptly, facing her.
” And the next time you disobey me, I’ll assume you’re more than stupid”
Then, I opened the door for her.
She entered with a grumpy face. Mumbling under her breath.
After she was in, I shut it close and walked over to the driver’s seat … Igniting the engine.
” How did you find me?” She asked.
” Instincts.”
I took a u-turn , driving back on the highway.
” who was that guy?”
A question I didn’t want to forget asking her. A stranger won’t act the way he did. She must know him from somewhere.
She looked away,..
“That was Leo, my ex.”
