Writer’s pov.

“You’re bleeding. ”
“From your nose. ”

Davis flushed.
He touched his nose and felt the blood rushed down to his mouth.

Quickly, he brought out his kerchief and wiped it off.

“It’s nothing.”
He replied thereafter.
Tucking the stained kerchief into his leather pants.

” What do you mean it’s nothing?. I just saw you bleed from the nose. It’s not nothing. Did anything go wrong in the office?.. did you get involved in a fight? An accident?”

Davis shrugged his shoulders.

” It’s nothing like I said. Go back to what you were doing. ” He replied, trying to put himself back in shape.
But it wasn’t working.

His body was on fire and shaken up. Everything would be fine if he just take the d@mn drugs.

“But…

” I said! …” He half-yelled with a finger pointed at her…

After a small pause and a short deep breath, his body relaxed a little and his voice returned normal.

“I said nothing happen. Go back to what you’ were doing.”

He brushed past her and walked out.

Leaving her in a confused state.

Adriana didn’t know why he got so upset after seeing him bleed
She walked back to her seat, but already lost interest in whatever she was knitting.

Her mind cycled on something different and more confusing.

Davis pov.

I drove past the other cars on the highway, not caring if I was on high-speed.

She saw me bleed!
She saw me in my worst state.
I know Adriana.
It would have been better if she wasn’t too curious about little things. Right now, I can tell she’s thinking about what happened moments ago.

I had a feeling the signs were gonna start surfacing sooner than expected. But I didn’t expect this soon.

I breath hard as I parked in front of durec.

I stepped down feeling a bit tensed when my eyes caught with someone I hated seeing.

” I was beginning to wonder when you’d finally show up. ”

Ethan says, walking towards me.

What is he doing here?

I balled my fist.

” Why are you here?”
I furrowed a brow at him.

He cracked a small naughty laugh, but then readjusted to a neutral face.

” For someone like you Davis, I can proudly recommend for being a good orchestrator. ” He nods with a dry smile.

” What are you talking about?”
I furrowed a brow at him. Having no clue to why he was here saying nonsense.

He closed the distance between us with a swift velocity and his hands grabbed my collar.

” How the fvck can you still act dumb after what you did? Huh!”
He kept pulling with force.

” Have you gone insane?”
I pushed him off me and adjusted my shirt.

He smiled.

” I thought we were neutral now. But I can see you just like pushing the buttons. I won’t let this slide Davis. Trust me. You’ll definitely pay for what you’ve done. ”

He threatened before walking towards his car. I watched him hop in and drove off.

What just happened?

What is he talking about?.. why did he just threatened me?

I scoffed, unbelievably. Ethan has got some nerves.

I shook off what just happened and walked into duvel.
I really have alot to put up with. As it is now, there’s a meeting I’ll need to attend in day’s time and I think I’ll be taking Adriana along.

****** Hours Later “*****

I was feeling even more better when I closed from the office. The drugs did a lot to me and I’m happy.
I decided to stop by a flower shop to get something for Adriana.

I didn’t like the fact I raised my voice at her earlier today so I’m gonna shove it aside with a flower and a simple apology,.. just to clear the doubts off my mind.

My eyes caught the rose flowers and a chilly memory ran through my mind.

Rose. Betty loved Rose.
And that’s the more reason I won’t buy it.

” I’ll take the daisies please.”

I pointed at the beautiful flower which was neatly arranged.

Pretty girls love daisies too. Adrianna is pretty, she’ll definitely love this.

I sighed out.
I payed for the flowers before walking towards my car.

It’s getting pretty late though. I don’t want her falling asleep till I give her the flowers.

Rachel pov.

“Arhh”
I grunt tiredly as I dropped the load on the table. Today at the office was really really hectic!.

” I have been waiting for you.”

What the fvck…

I yelped. Switching on the lights.

“It’s you. ”

I relaxed a bit seeing her face. She was sitting on the sofa.

” How did you get in?.. why are you here? You could have called.”
I ranted, trying to catch my breath.
Yeah, she scared the hell out of me.

She got up and walked towards me.

” You couldn’t do a simple task I gave you”

I breath out.

” It wasn’t simple. Okay. ” I rolled my eyes.

I did try my best.

” I told you to keep an eye on Davis. Keep him within your grasp. How is that not simple?.. it was simple for me”

Here she goes again.

” Simple for you, yet everything got screwed up. I did my best okay. I tried everything. There was a time I even tried seducing him in his drunk state… But he wouldn’t bulge. I couldn’t because …

” Because what?..” she snapped. Angrily.

” Because he is not the Davis you used to know back then. Things are harder than it was then. You shattered him. He is still grooving over what you did. And he’s got no eyes on any woman neither does he find me attractive. I did try my best.”

The next thing I received was a slap on my face.

I wasn’t surprised.
I get this all the time.

” And yet he got married?. Why did he get married then if it was that hard?. You failed me and you still have the guts to say nonsense. I’m so disappointed in you. If you weren’t my sister, I would have disposed you a long time ago for being a failure. Our plans! My plan is now a ruin because of your mess. If you had just obeyed a simple instruction maybe things wouldn’t have been too hard now. ! ”

She yelled to my face.

I remained queit. Rubbing my bruised face..

” What, . What do you have me do, Betty?”

She smiled. ,.. a smile that didn’t reach her eyes .

” I want you to try all over again. Father’s death won’t be in vain Rachel. You have to try all over again. ”

With that said, she picked her bag and walked out.

I swallowed hard.

Davis pov.

” Adrianna? ”
I called the moment I got in. I got no response.

I walked into the bedroom and switched on the lights, there she was. Sleeping.

I checked my wrist for time,.. it’s few minutes past eight.
And she’s sleeping already?.

I didn’t wake her up. Instead, I walked to her side of the bed and dropped the daisies beside her.

” Goodnight”
I muttered under my breath before walking out. I needed to freshen up .

The moment Adriana heard the door close, she opened her eyes and touched the flowers.
She smiled tenderly at it and inhaled the sweet smell.

How thoughtful of him to have bought her daisies,… Daisies was her favorite.

The smile still plastered on her face when she embraced the flower and shut her eyes back , pretending to be asleep.
