HIS 90 DAYS BRIDE - EPISODE 26

Adrianna’s pov.

I blinked my eyes open. I felt so weak and exhausted.
Gently, I removed Davis arm which wrapped me from behind, he was still fast asleep.

I don’t intend to wake him up.

I got up and placed my feet lightly on the ground. I could bet it was already past midnight. And I’m hungry as hell. I got up with the blanket wrapped around my body. I was naked inside, I must have slept off after the rough time we had together.

I dragged my feet along the passage way towards the kitchen. The light was on, so I simply reached out for some cookies which was neatly kept inside the freezer. I like my cookies to be cold. Weird right?
I just love the cozy feeling it gives when I chew on it. It’s refreshing.

I placed three cookies in a plate and poured some juice into a glasscup.

I took a bite from one of the cookie before heading to the sitting room.

This will definitely do justice to the hunger.

Two Days Later*

Ethan’s pov.

“What do you mean one of the ships sank?.. there was no disaster. I was sure of that before sending you on that errand”

Ethan seethed in rage as he clutched the shirt of the man who had fear in his eyes.

” We were taken unawares. There was an explosion and we lost one of the ship. I didn’t know what to do. I’m really sorry sir!”
He fearfully replied

Ethan who wasn’t pleased , swallowed up in this anger punched him heavily on his face.

” I will deal with you!”

He shouted.

“Do you fvcking know how much that “one ship” cost? The hell!!!!”

He raised his voice , vibrating in rage.

The frightened man stayed confined to a corner. Silently mourning his broken nose. He had blood stains on his shirt. But that didn’t bother him. What bothered him most was what Ethan would do to him for such a loss.

It has never been recorded. That’s why Ethan trusted him in this business the first place.

What really brought about the explosion?…

Clueless. He felt clueless. There was nothing he’d say that would calm his boss.

If he’s lucky, he’ll let him live.

“Who must have done this?”
Those words cycled on Ethan’s lips.
This is the first to have ever happened.

” He’s dead. He was murdered in his office. Two days ago. ”

One of the nurses said to him.

“What do you mean, murdered?”
Davis mouth dropped.
Surely he wasn’t hearing the correct thing.

” He was murdered. There was no trace of anything. The CCTV couldn’t provide who did it. No record at all. The case is already with the police and they’re working to know what really happened.”

Davis couldn’t say anything. His mind wasn’t centred at what the police would or wouldn’t do. All he knew was that the doctor was dead. And his fate is finally sealed.

When the nurse saw how speechless he was, she took that as a go ahead to excuse herself.

Davis placed his back on the wall. His mind kept running with different thought.

Before the doctor’s death, he had told him to come see him in the office that there was a special package that could help him a bit with his health..

But still,

Why Would someone commit a bloody murder without the notice of anyone?

Could it be someone who knew about his health?.

He couldn’t tell. He was out of clues.

All he knew at the moment was that, his time was already close. Closer than he thought.

With a heavy heart, he dragged himself out of the hospital premises.

Unknown pov

She walked boldly into the dark of the passage-way. A proud smile on her face.

“Open.”
She Said, and the door parted for her to proceed.

She got in and sat on a chair in the dark of the room. The darkness covering her face.

“I’ve missed you Old man.”

She said. Giving her chin a smooth touch.

” I would have expected you to say something,.. but then , I remember you can’t talk. How easily I forget such things. ”

She smirked.
Then got up.

” I don’t know what your silly son is up to”

“I wish I could just skip to the next part where he’d just die. ”

She paused,…

But then , broke the silence with a scoff.

” You’ll remain here till I decide when to end you. ”

She finalised. Staring one last time at the frail man who was tied to a chair.

” I hope you don’t die before I finally decide. Because you still have a big part to play for me. ”

A silly smile stretched on her lips before she walked out.
Shutting the door behind her.

Davis drove home. He walked in and met Adriana knitting.

” Back home early?” She asked.

” I came to get something. ” He replied and walked into the inner room.

‘why does he look unsettled?’
She asked herself after glancing at him.

Davis walked back and …

” Davis. ” She called.

“Yes?…”
He faced her. He had actually come back to get a pack of the drugs the doctor (though now late) had given to him some days earlier. His head was spinning so bad and his body was already changing. He could tell because he could feel it. The pain and drowsiness,. It was all coming back. Weighing him down.

” Omg. Davis. ”

Her mouth dropped the moment she stared at his face.

She got up and walked towards him.

” What?” He asked. Not getting why her face held so much surprise on it.

“You’re bleeding. ”
“From your nose. ”

Davis flushed.
He touched his nose and felt the blood rushed down to his mouth.

Quickly, he brought out his kerchief and wiped it off.
