Immediately she left, I hit the table so hard and mistakenly broke my pen.

Dàmn her!
Damn anyone that goes with the name Betty!… And to think she is not even affected by what she did.
I hate her with every fiber in me. I hate her for what she did to me.

Adrianna’s pov.

” Taxi! Taxi!”
I tried flagging down but all seems to be filled up.

Standing under the scorching I could feel the heat burning up my skin.

” Don’t you think flagging down a cab is a bit too off, for someone your status.”

That voice rang into my ears.

I turned to the direction it came from.

” Ethan?” I gulped, feeling so surprise to see him.

” How are you here?.. I mean, how did you find me?”
I asked, not knowing how to react.

” You mean, ‘find you’ after declining the offer to get a job in my company?”

He walked closer and smirked hard.

I blushed, ” it’s not that okay. I kinda lost your card. I would have given a call. ”
I replied,… Definitely, I would have.

” But still, I’m here. I could give you the job right here, and now. ”

I laughed a little.

” I don’t think that is necessary …”

” I know.” He tucked his hands into his skinny pants , closing the distance between off.

“Especially now that you’re married. .. ”

I swallowed hard.

“Huh?.. how did you know?”
How did he know?.. Davis and I made sure not to make it public.

” It’s everywhere now, Mrs Gregg. Lucky you. You won my brother’s heart. I’m happy for you both. ”

I scoffed in disbelief. Won his brothers hea,,,

” Wait.”
On a more serious note.
” He’s your brother??”
I arched a confused brow at him.

“Half.” He replied.

” How come he never told me about you. ?”

It was getting clear now. The day I saw him in Davis office, it was no coincidence. They are really brothers.

How many of his brothers will I get to meet on the long run huh?

” He doesn’t like talking about me. No one does. ”

” And why is that?..”

He was silent for a while, then, he shoved his hands out from his pocket.

” Let me drive you. Instead of waiting out in the hot sun. You won’t get any cab for more or less twenty minutes. ”

How true.
I’ve been standing here for about thirty minutes now.

” Sure. I’m off to the market. I need to get something.”

He nods and lead the way towards his black Jeep.

” I’d really love you to tell me how you won my brother’s heart,.. you must have spent alot of time with him to have brought him from his shell. Considering what Happened to him last two years. ”

Last two years?.

What is he talking about?.

” We barely know each other. ”
I replied.
He pulled the door open and I got in.

He walked over to the driver’s seat and shut the door thereafter.

” Barely a week,.. and you expect me to believe that?” He cracked a dry laugh.

He thinks I’m lying. But I won’t push the truth any further.

I got pretty occupied with something else.

He started the car and we were already on the highway.
He tuned the radio and the cool blues played,.. hitting loudly inside the car.

After a small silence, I asked.

” What happened two years ago?”

He smiled instead.
When he finally said something, it wasn’t the answer I expected.

It was something different.

” If he didn’t tell you about it. It means he doesn’t want you to know. At least, not yet.”

” You tell me, what happened?.. ”
My curiosity was getting the best out of me.
And I bet it was annoying.

But still, he kept smiling.

” You’ll know someday. Whenever he’s ready to tell you. Besides, you still haven’t told me how you won his heart. ”

Huh! I looked away.

” I already told you. We barely know each other”

He didn’t say anything, instead, he increased the volume of the music in the car.

What really happened two years ago?

Unknown pov.

” You kept me waiting. ”
Her frown deepened immediately the door threw open.

“I’m really sorry Ma’am. I got caught in an emergency. ”
He apologized before taking a seat.

She dipped her hand into her purse and brought out a parcel.

“Here”
She gave to him.

He took it with a broad smile on his face.

” You know how it goes., Don’t you?”
An evil smile stretched from her lips.

He greedily opened the parcel and his eyes stretched in surprise.

” How do you manage to get your hands in all these?. I can barely fetch one for myself. You must have connections. ”

” There’s no need for that question.. I’ll take my leave now. You shouldn’t mess things up. I don’t forgive when I’m angry. ”

She dead panned.

He nods with a deep swallow.

She got up and made to leave when she suddenly stopped.

” And one more thing, Mr Raymond”
She faced him.

Mr Raymond smiled, expecting to hear something delightful from her.. but then, his smile got replaced with sheer horror in his eyes.
Before him was a heavy loaded gun.

” I told you I don’t forgive when I get angry. ” She replayed. Checking her watch.

” But. ..”

” You broke our deal Mr Raymond. And you have to pay for it. I am angry. ”

” Killing me with that gun here will attract security and you’ll be sent to suffer for your Crime. The CCTV footage will exposed you. Trust me”

She laughed maliciously like a lunatic which she is.

“You think I’m that stupid?. One bullet won’t make a sound and oh, about the cameras, they’re well taken care of, they’re stagnant. whatever happened here won’t be recorded. So don’t worry about me. I will walk out of here without a notice, trust me on that.”

Mr Raymond gulped hard. He knew she wasn’t bluffing. Anything she says is the truth.

“Please..”
He begged.

” Too late. I leaked a bullet already”
She gave him a toothy grin before releasing the bullet which penetrated his skull. Making a bloody mess on his desk.

She smiled in satisfaction, blowing off the smoke that came out from the gun.

She dipped the gun into her purse and walked out.

” I think it’s high time I do sh’t my way. ”

She put on her dark shades and got into her red car.

She left unnoticed, after killing a man.
