I slumped to the ground helplessly, completely consumed by despair.

Seeing my dispirited appearance, Ezra was actually in a good mood.

He let go of me and I fell to the ground, unable to catch my breath for a long time.

Perhaps he was tired from playing, he lost interest in teasing me. He slowly got up and walked to a table nearby, poured a glass of water, walked up to me, and with a creepy smile, dropped a white pill into the water and handed it to me, saying, “Drink it.”

I looked at him, my eyes full of resistance.

He raised an eyebrow, curved his lips and said, “Don’t worry, it’s not a drug. Drink this and you can have a good sleep. Once you’re well- rested, we can play something else, okay?”

I pursed my lips, not believing a single word he said.

But at such times, when I was at the mercy of others, there was absolutely no refusal to the gathering.

He was not a patient man, he directly gripped my jaw, forcefully and violently poured an entire cup of water into my mouth.

“Cough, cough…” I choked so much that I almost coughed out tears.

Seeing me drink, he finally stood up, glanced at the man with a hood over his head, and then ordered his men to give him a cup of water with medicine in it as well.

I didn’t know what the medicine was, I just felt my head getting heavy after a short while, and then I lost consciousness.

When I woke up again, it was pitch black all around, and the silence was somewhat frightening. I shifted my body a bit, but the pain made me gasp involuntarily.

Because it was pitch black all around, I couldn’t see anything, so I had to grope with my hands to find the exit.

I had only taken a few steps when I was tripped by something.

“Ah!” I fell to the ground, the pain was so intense that I couldn’t help but scream. Accompanying my voice was a low, muffled grunt, a

man’s.

I recoiled in fear, hastily asking, “Who…who are you?”

“Crack!” A light flashed in the pitch-black room, it was a lighter. I could see the owner of that muffled grunt, it was a somewhat youthful- looking man.

Looking at him, I hesitated for a moment, furrowing my brows and asked, “Where is this? How come you’re here too?”

The man seemed to have no intention of acknowledging me. He simply held up his lighter, scanning the surroundings, until he found a half- used candle and lit it. For a moment, the pitch-black environment was illuminated.

By the candlelight, I was able to see the surroundings clearly. This place was an abandoned warehouse, with many old and disorganized items inside.

Drawing back my gaze, I continued to look at the man in front of me, feeling puzzled. Judging by the current situation, it seemed that nothing had happened between him and me, we were just confined in

one place.

Ezra clearly gave us all the same thing to drink. Could it be that he simply wanted to make us dizzy?

I could understand if you wanted to lock me up, but why did this man also have to be brought in?

Wasn’t this man after wealth? It seemed like he hadn’t offended Ezra in

any way.

Unable to figure it out, I didn’t think about it anymore. I got up and collected some rat’s nest from the corner, handed it to him and said,” “This can stop the bleeding. Apply it to your wound, it can relieve the pain.”

He glanced at me sideways, didn’t say a word, just furrowed his brows and walked over to sit down on the side, seemingly not wanting to bother with me.

Seeing him like this, I couldn’t help but purse my lips. How did he become so aloof? He ignored me, and I didn’t say anything more, simply sitting down to tend to the scrapes on my body.

I guess I had accepted the fact that I had fallen into Ezra’s hands and was basically not far from death. I wasn’t that scared anymore. As I was tending to my wounds, I glanced at the man and asked, “Did you offend Ezra? Why were you also locked up?”
