Holding the knife in my hand, I looked at him, increasingly realizing that his perversion had reached its peak.

“What? Afraid? Or unwilling?” He squinted at me, then turned his gaze to the man. I didn’t know what he was thinking, but suddenly he said to the person next to him, “Cover his face, so our Tabatha won’t have to see and feel reluctant.”

The man had already been greatly frightened. He came here, probably just for wealth, never imagining that he would lose his life. For a moment, he wanted to beg for mercy, but at this point, Ezra no longer allowed it.

Two men immediately put a hood over the man’s head and also tied up

his hands.

Seeing this, Ezra looked at me with satisfaction and said, “Well, like this, you won’t be soft-hearted anymore, right?”

I looked at him, no longer having the words to describe how twisted this person was. In that moment, the person I most wanted to kill was still him. Clenching the knife in my hand, I fiercely stabbed towards

his heart.

But I had overestimated my own abilities. He reacted extremely quickly. To be precise, he had been on guard against me all along. So, when I lunged at him, he almost effortlessly dodged.

I wished for his death, that intense desire, made me fully aware that I might not be able to kill him, but still, after he dodged, I threw the

knife at him fiercely. He probably didn’t expect me to be so desperate, so he didn’t have time to dodge and his arm was scratched.

What a pity, it was just a minor injury.

Without weapons, I was no different from trash, and I was quickly subdued by Ezra’s men.

He had remained silent, merely lowering his gaze to the scratch on his arm. It was a light wound, bleeding just a bit. He pressed his fingertip against the wound, squeezing out some blood harshly, then held it in his mouth, savoring the taste of his own blood.

After a while, he looked up at me, a hint of mockery appearing on his expressionless face. “Disappointed? You still couldn’t kill me.”

After speaking, he suddenly burst into laughter, the residual blood on his lips making his laughter seem all the more insane.

“Tabatha, you said you didn’t want to leave me, but now you want to kill me, you woman, you really deserve to die!” He violently grabbed my hair, dragging me and smashing me against the wall.

“Hisss!” A massive impact caused my entire body to convulse in pain. Before I could recover from the agony, I was yanked up by him again. I thought he would continue to torment me to vent his anger.

Unexpectedly, he suddenly thrust the knife back into my hand. Without waiting for my reaction, he pulled me along and stabbed the knife towards the young man’s body.

Realizing what he was about to do, I desperately veered the knife towards the man. However, I still injured him, but the knife didn’t hit a vital spot, which could be considered as him narrowly escaping a disaster.

I knew what Ezra wanted to do. He wanted my hands to be stained

He wanted me to bear the burden of a life, even if it cost me my own. Realizing this, I knew he wouldn’t let it go. Almost without thinking, I turned the blade in my hand towards myself, stabbing without hesitation.

“Tabatha!” Ezra suddenly shouted.

Almost in an instant, a sharp pain shot through the wrist of my knife- holding hand, causing the knife to clatter to the ground. Subsequently, I was forced against the wall by Ezra, who had a firm grip around my neck.

Looking at me, his voice was low and ominous, “So eager to die,

Tabatha? That’s not very wise of you. If you die, I’ll have to seriously consider what to do with the cop who came with you. Oh, and your mother on the mainland, it seems I’ll have to make time to visit her. But at her age, I’m afraid she might not be able to withstand my torment.”

I held my breath, staring at him in disbelief, “Ezra, you madman.” He actually threatened me with my mother, and Lucas, how could he know Lucas and I were coming?

Looking at him, a shadowy fear enveloped me, my voice was somewhat hoarse, “Ezra, what have you done to Lucas?”

“Heh!” He laughed, still as terrifying as ever, “Only thinking to ask now, isn’t it a bit late? Huh?”

My face was ashen, my breathing labored. I looked at him, barely able to speak, “Fine, I won’t seek death anymore. However you want to torment me, make me wish I were dead, I’ll endure it. But Ezra, I beg you, let Lucas go, alright? He has no grudge against you. If you want revenge, come at me, okay?”

“No grudge?” He sneered, standing up, looking down at me

I froze, realizing, yes, Ezra had committed countless atrocities, with numerous lives on his hands. How could the police not bear a grudge against him?

Seeing that I remained silent, he sneered, “Tabatha, you’d better behave and follow my lead here. Maybe if I’m in a good mood, I might not kill that cop. But if you keep seeking death, then I’m sorry. Not only will I take that cop’s life, but I’ll also send your mother down to meet you in the underworld.”
