I bu-mped into someone as soon as I stepped out of the cl@ssroom. It was lunch time and I had made up my mind to eat at the cafeteria and then re-ad a book at the libr@ry.

“Are you blind?” Cynthia barked

“Sorry..” I apologized

She hissed out loudly. I didn’t say anything to Cynthia. I tried to walk away from her but she blocked my pathway.

“Have you forgotten we have an unsettled business?” She said

“I don’t remember..” I lied

“Come on..st©p pretending Kate”

Cynthia leaned in and I stepped backward.

“s£nior Tola is waiting” she said

And I bec@m£ scared

s£nior Tola was the Headgirl. She was mean, rude, selfish and spolit like Cynthia. And She was Cynthia’s school mother. She wanted me to be her daughter too but I declined. I chose s£nior

Faith over her. She was the @ssistant Headgirl. And s£nior Faith was the exact opposite of s£nior Tola.

“I’m not coming with you” my voice quivered as I j£rked free from Cynthia’s grip.

“Trust me Kate, I’m doing this for you” she dragged me behind her.

I knew what would happen to me if I was alone with Cynthia and s£nior Tola. I wished s£nior Faith would just show up and save me from Cynthia but she didn’t..I guess she was busy re-ading

in the libr@ry.

“She’s here” Cynthia announced when we got to a cl@ssroom far from the school main building.

s£nior Tola showed up with two other girls behind her.

“Hello Kate” she said

Cynthia pushed me forward

“Did anyone see you?” Tola asked

“No my lady” Cynthia replied

“So let’s get down to business” Tola said

“Wh..what do you want from me?”

“Calm down babe” Cynthia warned with a f!nger pressed to herl-ips.

“You rejected me and chose that stupid girl over me. Now you want to be the next Headgirl” she said

“No,I’m not Interested in being the next headgirl” I replied

Cynthia wanted that position. She was determined!

“Everyone wants Katherine Adebowale to be the next headgirl but I want Cynthia to be my successor” Tola said

“Okay..” I mumbled

“I wish you would just disappear from this school” Cynthia said

“Actually we can make her disappear” Tola added

And they laughed

“Hey! What are you thinking?!” Tola snapped

“We are evil? Come on! we are better off than Holydevil Faith” Tola said

“She doesn’t know Faith’s secret” Cynthia said

“Maybe they are in it together” Tola replied

I wondered what they were talking about.

Tola c@m£ to me

“Stay away from Faith” she said

“I can’t stay away..” I replied

Tola pushed my forehead

“She doesn’t know the truth. Maybe we should tell her faith’s secret” Cynthia said

“She won’t believe us. Faith is her Joy” Tola mocked

And they laughed again

“Then let’s prove it to her..”

Tola silenced Cynthia with a f!nger in the air.

“What are you saying?”

I asked

Tola stared intently at me

“Faith is a l£sblan” Tola spat

I went still

“I’m sure she didn’t tell you..” Cynthia said

“No..” I managed to say

No! They are trying to poison my mind so I can stay away from s£nior Faith.

They laughed again

“Do you want to know the truth?” Tola asked

I didn’t respond

These girls are unplea-sant and mean. They are re-ady to destroy anyb©dy.

“Faith is not a l£sblan!” I screamed at them

“You don’t believe us?” Cynthia asked

“I’ll never believe you” I replied

“You’re a fool..”

Cynthia tried to hit me but I was quic-k to hold her wrist.

“I don’t care if Faith is a l£sblan!..Or whatever!” I said

But de-ep down in my mind, I was troubled. I didn’t want to believe what I just heard about faith.

“Get out” Cynthia tried to fight me.

I re-leased her and ran out of the room as quic-k as possible. I was disturbe-d when I saw s£nior Faith in the libr@ry. I wanted to ask her if she was truly a l£sb!anbut I held back.

Faith can’t be a l£sblan!

I concluded

Two weeks later, Tola s£nt a note to me. She asked me to come to her by 10:00pm whenever the students are slee-ping in the dormitory. She said that she won’t disturb me again after the meeting. I shouldn’t have believed her but the foolish me gr@bb£d a t©uçhlight around 9:58pm and started walking towards the location Tola s£nt to me. It was quite far from the dormitory and I did my best

at not getting caught by our mistress. On getting to the school female toilet, I heard soft m0@n s. I was confused and I couldn’t place what was really happening. I walked in closely and it seems like

a student was satisfying herself. The m0@n ing grew louder which irritated me. I opened the door only to find the greatest shock of my life.

s£nior Faith sat on the floor with her eyes closed and two f!ngersin her hole. She was so engrossed in the act that she didn’t notice I was watching and pointing a light at her.

“s£nior..Faith” I whispered disgustingly

She opened her eyes slowly, it was as if it would pop out anytime soon!

“Oh..” She laughed as she kept ru-bbing herself.

I felt bile rose up in my throat and quic-kly I rushed to the sink to empty the content in my mouth.

Suddenly I felt a t©uçh on my skin..On my back first and slowly it t©uçhed my bu-tt. I pushed Faith away from me but she gr@bb£d me and soon my back was on the ground. Faith was stronger and I couldn’t fight her. I smelled alcohol in her breath as she slammed her mouth against mine.

Alcohol?! Faith was drun!k!

I tried to fight her but she was too strong. I knew the alcohol had taken the best p@rt of her and she was driven by a demon.

A sob welled up in my throat as I tried to pushed her off my b©dy. Then she hit me across the face and I screamed. Faith held me down, and when I thought she was going to do worst things to me…Someone opened the door.. Maybe Two..Cynthia and Tola.

Tola managed to get Faith away from me in a struggle while Cynthia stood still with her phone.

They looked satisfied with everything that happened that night. So I ran back to the dormitory in tears. I tried to tell myself that everything was fine.

Tola was right! Faith was a l£sblan!

“That’s horrible” Jones said with a disgusting look

Yeah! Finding out my school mother and trusted friend was a l£sb!anwas a shocker for me!

“Is that all?” Jeffrey said

I cleared my throat and continued

“I didn’t know everything that happened that night was Tola’s plan until I saw the pictures of me and Faith on the school page. Actually, Cynthia took pictures that night”

I swallowed h@rd

“I guess Tola and Cynthia are pretty much like Angella and her girls” Temi said with a frown

“So you left Linda Girls College because you were labeled as a l£sblan” Elena said

“Yes, my dad had to withdraw me from Linda Girls College”

And you didn’t bother to ask Faith why she was a l£sblan” Jeffrey said with a concerned look.

“Faith was having a big problem with boys” I said

They all raised their eyebrows

“She was R@p£d by her stepfather at 13” I said in a low tone

“That’s sad” Temi muttered

“Somehow her mom found out about it so Faith was transfered to Linda Girls College. Faith c@m£ to me when Tola leaked the pictures on the school page. It was a set up to expo-se Faith and also

destroy my reputation so I won’t be the next Headgirl. Tola was indeed smart! And I couldn’t defend myself because I had to protect Faith even after everything she did to me. I was mad at her but all I had against her went down the drain after she told me her story. Faith doesn’t trust men anymore because her stepfather abused and R@p£d her..Not once or twice. He went to her anytime her mom was away at shop. According to Faith, one day she build up the courage to tell her mom

everything. Her mom confirmed it after checking Faith at the hospital but her husband denied it.

He claimed that Faith s£dûç£d him” I paused and inhaled a handful of breathe

“That’s lame” Jones muttered

I nodded and continued

“Her mom ended her marriage with the man and then s£nt Faith to Linda Girls College”

“So she started liking girls and satisfying herself after the incidence with her stepfather”

Temi said

“Yes but I didn’t suspect it”

I said

“Did she show you any special affection?” Jeffrey asked

“Yes..Like Faith tou-ching the s-en-sitive p@rts of your b©dy whenever you are alone with her”

Emeka added

“Faith was nice and kind. And she never t©uçhed me or behave kind of..” I replied

“This Is so complicated. I’m confused and worried. I’ve been wondering who the anonymous person is -” Elena grumbled

“Angella Benson of course!” Emeka spat

“I don’t think its Angella” I Said

“Why? Kate have you forgotten Angella vowed to deal with you?” Temi reminded

“I know but she doesn’t know about my previous school or what happened”

“But she knows the name of your previous school. I mean what if Angella did some background check on you”

Jeffrey said with a serious face

“I agree with Jeffrey. Angella might find connections At Linda Girls College just to destroy you”

Jones added

“Well we can’t just sit here and continue thinking” Temi said

“What do we do?” Elena asked

The same question I’ve been asking myself since i locked myself in the locker all day..feeling scared to face anyone.

Now my greatest fear was facing my dad again. I had received a call from mom that he was coming home today. Actually, Mr Joel called him and told him about the news. And at this point I’ll do anything to make him un-derstand me just like how I did with my friends.

“Don’t worry too much Kate, we’ll sort things out” Jones said

They all nodded in unison.

I was stunned to see them in the hallway. I thought everyone had gone home, so I would sneak out of school like nothing had happened.

“I’ll talk to Angella Benson” Elena said

“No” I objected

“Why?”

“I..I don’t want anyone to get into trouble because of me” I said

“Trouble? I don’t care! Do I look like am scared of her?!”

Elena said

Annoyance clear in her tone.

“If Angella thinks she can do anyhow then we have to show her that things aren’t done that way!”

Temi said angrily

“And I think at this point, we should talk to Mr Joel. Let’s tell him everything” Elena said

“And let’s teach Angella Benson a lesson” Jones added

“I agree”

Jeff and Emeka said at the same time

Emeka cleared his throat

“Kate you have to be strong, build up your courage because tomorrow we are all going to talk to Mr Joel. Enough of this nons-en-se!” He slammed his hands on the table.

“Better don’t spoil EHS property” Jones said

And we all laughed

“I have a plan” Jeffrey said

And we all turned to look at him

“What’s your plan?” I asked

Jeffrey stood up and c@m£ to me.

“There is only one way to find out the culprit” he said

“How?” Elena asked

“.. Using fire to catch fire” he said

“Omo Ina la n ran si Ina”

Temi said in Yoruba

“I don’t un-derstand, Oga Jeffrey plea-se explain” Emeka said with a confused look.

“Who is close to Angella and her girls?” Jeffrey asked

We exchanged glances

“A bit” Jeffrey added

Jones pointed to Emeka and the rest of us joined him.

“Ahn no! I’m not close to Angella” Emeka objected

“But you’re friends with Caroline and Elizabeth” Elena said

“And have you forgotten you’re Caroline’s crush” Temi added

And we busted into laughter. A de-ep frown formed on Emeka’s face.

“Eww..Caroline that looks like baby frog” he said disgustingly

And we laughed again

“I don’t even like her and she knows that too” Emeka said

Jeffrey cl@pped his hands

“Emeka, you will be a great help to us” he said

“Don’t even think of using me to catch the culprit” Emeka said

Temi hissed

“Before nko”

“Oga Jeff you must be kidding” he said

“You said you’re willing to help na” Temi said

“See Kate it’s in trial times that you’ll know true friends” Elena said

“So am not true to kate right?” Emeka asked

“Yes! So prove to us that you are a true friend” Elena said

Emeka stared at me

“What’s the plan?” He said

Jeffrey briefed us about the plan. A secret plan! That will help us find An Anonymous Being!
