The next moment, a smile appeared on her face. “There’s no need for you to explain what happened between you and Ms. Smith, Mr. Levine.”

“You’re my wife, so I have to make it clear!” Ragnar stated.

Josephine said, “We only have a contractual marriage. We’ll get divorced when the time comes. You can be with whornever

      you want

Ragnar was furious when he heard Josephine’s words.

“Do you want to divorce so badly?” Ragnar approached her, step by step, forcing her to the corner as he spoke.

Josephine was startled by his sudden action. She leaned against the cold wall, her heart pounding in her chest.

She raised her head to look at Ragnar and asked quietly, “What are you doing, Mr. Levine?”

“What do you think I’m doing?” A solemn and earnest tone slowly came out of his throat. “Have you forgotten that we are husband and wife since you’ve been giving me the silent treatment for so long?”

When Josephine heard that, her heart skipped a beat, and she pushed him away. “I’m not giving you the silent treatment, Mr. Levine. We’re just a contractual couple. I don’t care about what happened between you and Ms. Smith. We don’t have to put on an act now that Grandma Diana is no longer in the mansion. I’m going to sleep in the guest room from today

      onward.”

When Ragnar heard that, his eyes darkened. “Stop fighting me! Enough is enough!”

Josephine yelled, “I’m not fighting you!”

Josephine walked away from Ragnar after saying that. She went straight to the wardrobe, packed her belongings, and returned to the guest room.

Ragnar punched the wall in response to the woman’s attitude. “That damned woman!” he cursed inwardly.

Ragnar wondered. “I had already taken the initiative to talk to her. Why was she still upset?”

He would have insomnia almost every day these days if he didn’t sleep with the woman in his arms.

The next day, Ragnar went on a business trip.

      Everything was back to normal.

In the blink of an eye, a month had gone by. Christopher had completed all of the formalities, and that day was the day for the house to be delivered.

The excitement on Josephine’s face was palpable the moment she received his call.

She immediately left her job and went to find Christopher.

      CHECK THIS OUT

When Josephine arrived at the Hayes residence, she kept thanking him.

Christopher smiled gently and said, “It’s just a trivial matter to me, Josephine. Don’t be so courteous to me.”

“It’s a small matter for you, but it’s a big deal in my eyes,” Josephine said with a smile.

“Here–this is for you. Christopher handed Josephine the property deed and a set of keys as he spoke, and he said with a smile, “Congratulations.”

      “Thank you!” Josephine took it.

      Chapter 75

Her hand was still trembling from excitement.

“Don’t be so polite with me.” Christopher’s heart instantly melted when he saw how happy she was.

He liked that kind of unpretentious girl.

Josephine carefully placed the property deed in her bag and turned to face Christopher. “I’ll treat you to dinner some other day. I have to clean the house first.”

When Christopher heard that, he immediately responded, “I just happen to have nothing else to do. I’ll send you there.”

Josephine hesitated for a while before agreeing.

When she was about to thank him, Christopher added, “Please don’t say thank you.”

      Josephine smiled.

She seemed to have nothing else to say but “thank you.”

      “Let’s go.” Christopher walked ahead.

Yvette held Josephine’s hand. “Ms. Yeager, let’s keep up.”

      “All right.” Josephine nodded.

The car came to a complete stop half an hour later.

Josephine bought a cleaning kit nearby and went home with it.

In the house, Josephine cleaned the room while Christopher took off his suit to help.

“Mr. Hayes, please don’t. I can do it myself. You and Yvette can sit down and relax. Josephine quickly refused when she realized that he was going to help her.

“I can’t just sit and watch you do the cleaning, can I?” Christopher’s voice was gentle. He rolled up his sleeves to clean Josephine….

Yvette would help a little from time to time.

Two hours later, the cleaning was done.

“It’s great that this home finally belongs to me and Aunt Yennefer,” she thought to herself.

      up

      with

Josephine had called Yennefer yesterday, and the latter said that she wouldn’t return until two days later. She would give Yennefer a surprise when she returned.

There would be a place for them to stay when the time came, and Yennefer had divorced Jonathan. That was great news!

In the past, Yennefer was her supporter.

From then on, she would be Yennefer’s strongest supporter.

Josephine burst out laughing when she noticed that Christopher’s face was dirty.

“What’s the matter?” Christopher asked when he saw her smile.

“Your face…” Josephine pointed at his face, covered her mouth, and giggled.

“What’s wrong with my face?” Christopher asked again.

      Chapter 75

At that moment, Yvette said with a smile. “Daddy, your face looks like a cat’s. She climbed onto the table and handed him a mirror after saying that. “Daddy, take a look.”

Christopher smiled as he looked at Yvette’s mirror.

“Go wash your face, Mr. Hayes.” Josephine stopped laughing.

“Josephine, since we are friends now, shouldn’t you stop calling me ‘Mr. Hayes‘? You’re too polite,” Christopher said.

      Josephine was taken aback.

      She then nodded. “Okay.”

Josephine continued, “Go and wash up.”

Christopher did not object and hurriedly washed his face.

Christopher stood in front of the mirror after washing his face. He thought about how well he was getting along with Josephine these days. He was in a good mood.

When Christopher came out, Josephine said, “Mr. Hayes, you’ve done me such a huge favor. Let me treat you to dinner.”

“Yay! I can have dinner with Ms. Yeager again.” Yvette clapped her hands happily.

Christopher shook his head lightly when he saw Yvette like that. He then said, “That will cost you a lot.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Josephine replied.

She thought, “He’s helped me so much, so it’s only right that I treat him to dinner.”

      “Let’s go.” Christopher said.

Christopher yearned for Josephine’s cooking. In fact, he wanted to have Josephine cook by herself. He considered it for a moment before deciding to disregard it.

After all, she must be tired after cleaning for so long.

In the restaurant, Josephine gave Christopher the menu and asked him.

      Order.

Christopher smiled elegantly at Josephine and checked several dishes on the menu.

The dishes were quickly served, and all the food was served in ten minutes.

Christopher and Josephine gave Yvette a piece of fish at the same time. They exchanged smiles as they looked up at each

      other.

Yvette looked at them happily before she said, “Ms. Yeager and Daddy have a tacit understanding.”

Josephine retracted her hand awkwardly as soon as she heard that.

Yvette continued, “Ms. Yeager, it would be great if you could be my mommy.”

Josephine was shocked when she heard that. She hurriedly looked at Christopher. “Mr. Hayes, please don’t listen to Yvette’s

      nonsense.”

She had never thought about being with Christopher.

“What if what Yvette said was exactly what I thought, Josephine?” Christopher continued because Yvette had already started

      it.
Anyway, he also had the same plan.

As soon as Christopher’s words came out, Josephine became terrified and luurriedly said, “Mr. Hayes, Yvette is still young, so she can say whatever she wants, but you must not crack such a joke.”

“I’m not joking.” Christopher’s expression was solemn, and there was no sign of any jokes.

Before Josephine could respond, he added, “Yvette’s mother has been gone for five years. I’m sick of being a father and a mother. So, I’m prepared to remarry.”
