CRIMSON OVERLORD - Season 3 Episode 22

”Argh!”

The demon coughed up blood as he jumped to his feet. He looked at Orpheus as he tried to bid time to recover. He felt he could overpower the enemy as long as he was given enough time. The only reason the opposite party succeeded so far was due to the surprise factor.

He quickly summoned a weird humanoid-origin beast.

Three tiny eyes view their surroundings from their tiny sockets. A broad nose rests below, but it’s the deep mouth below that takes all the attention. A sardonic smile reveals several huge sharp teeth and a large tongue.

Tiny jagged ears sit on each side of its tiny, bony head, which itself is covered in thin hair-like tentacles and has two large tentacles protruding from the top.

Its small lean body is hunched over. Two broad fleshy arms hang at its sides and end in small hands with short fingers, of which it has 10 in total.

Its legs are muscular and stand straight, each ending in lean paws.

Its body is covered in small scales and its shoulders are narrower than its pelvis, from which a long tail sways back and forth.

This monster breathed fire, trying to buy its master as much time as possible. Its strength is equal to a powerful Level 5 Origin master.

Orpheus remained silent. He was amused by the demon’s action, although it was a smart decision, it would have worked if he was not the opponent.

Suddenly, he raised his right hand above his head. A spear of light was rushing at him with supersonic speed, carrying waves of destructive force.

The air split apart and the entire surrounding was engulfed by ear-piercing sound.

Just the pressure alone wiped out the flames and turned the debris into fine pieces.

BANG!

The spear crashed against his palm and dissipated into dots of light. He motioned his hand like he was wiping some dust, and the light disappeared.

“Impossible!”

The demon exclaimed in horror, unable to believe his eyes but he quickly regained his composure before snapping his fingers and this time hundreds of powerful origin beasts were summoned. Orcs who could talk. They are powerful as Level 5 Origin Masters meaning they are Tier 2 Origin Beasts.

”Surround and kill him.” The demon ordered his underlings.

“Y-Yes, sir!”

The demon’s underlings fixed their grip on their weapons even while their bodies trembled.

“Dieeeeeee…human!!”

Origin beasts that numbered in the hundreds charged at Orpheus.

“Wow.”

Orpheus smiled brightly as he looked at the origin beasts heading his way. It was an amusing sight if he must say.

“You don’t value your life, do you?”

Orpheus moved his sword which became dyed in red.

From left to right.

Orpheus drew a red line in mid-air.

There was no sound.

Following the line of blood that split apart the air.

Pshk!! Phsssshk!!!—

—their heads dropped down.

Decapitated heads rolled around the ground.

Red fountains are scattered all around the surrounding area.

“Uh, ah.”

“Ah… ah.”

In an instant…

When not even a second had passed—

“Aaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

“M-Monster!! he is a monster!!”

Over half of the numbers of origin beasts that had numbered in the hundreds had lost their heads and died.

“Ha~”

Orpheus looked at the pouring blood fountains and took deep breaths.

Soon, he furrowed his eyebrows.

“Tch! They only smell fishy and disgusting. I do wonder what they go around eating in general. It’s so disgusting I got the urge to throw up.”

Orpheus looked at the remaining origin beasts who survived with distaste.

“E-Eeeeeeek!!”

“Monster!! He is the real monster!!!”

The origin beasts, engulfed with fear, turned away from Orpheus and tried to desperately escape.

“Oh, my. Where are you going?”

A voice drenched in bloodlust rang out in their ears.

“Aaaaahhh!! S-Spare me!! Please spare me!!!”

“Wh-What are you bastards doing!! Don’t run away!! I’ll kill the ones that run away!!”

The demon urgently shouted out to his escaping underlings, but it was too late to stop their movement.

And in the place, those frightening underlings were going…

Pshk!! Slash!!

“Kugh!! Kuk!”

“Krrr!”

Hundreds of beings wearing blood-red masks made of shadow were massacring the demon’s underlings.

”!!!!!”

The demon trembled while taking a step back.

”Y-you are a demon!”

”Pff- A demon calling another person a demon, it’s funny.”

A voice that rang out eerily.

Boooom!!!—

Red energy started to stir up the surroundings like a tornado.

“Argh!!”

S-S-S-Slice!!—

Small scratches started to pile up on the demon’s body as if his entire body was being sliced by sharp razor blades.

Although they were scratches, as the number of them far exceeded a thousand, they developed into wounds that couldn’t be called scratches anymore.

“Ah, uh.”

Blood gushed out of the demon’s body as he stumbled while taking steps back.

Orpheus slowly extended her hand towards him.

The drops of blood bled by the demon floated into the air and slowly flew to Isabella.

“Hm!”

Orpheus licked the demon’s blood and drank it.

Suddenly, his expression distorted.

“Ptui!”

He spat out the remaining blood in his mouth as if he had drunk something dirty.

“I intentionally incited you to use your powerful card… but it appears that hardship was in vain.”

Orpheus sounds incredibly disappointed and annoyed.

Although the demon’s blood was more edible than the blood from his trash underlings, that was all.

The taste didn’t make Orpheus feel rewarded in the least for playing pretend and giving him a chance to entertain him.

“S-Spare me…”

“Hm.”

Orpheus grabbed both of the demon’s arms and brutally twisted them off.

”Uwahhgagykk!!!”

“Even the sound of your scream is vulgar. Not even a pig scream sounds so disgusting.”

Orpheus was really annoyed.

He grabbed onto the demon’s chin this time as if something wasn’t to her liking.

”How dare you use this filthy mouth to call me a demon? You deserve an appropriate punishment yeah?”

A beaming smile was placed on the demon’s lips.

“Uh, ua, ah, no… Aaaahhhhhhh!!”

Rip!!—

He violently tore off the chin in his grasp.

Blood spurted out and drenched the ground.

“Sigh. I went through all that trouble for this?”

—Overwhelming.

Even though the demon was on the side of powerful origin beasts (Tier 3 Origin beast=Level 4 Origin Master) that were deemed to be dangerous in the scope of humans, he was nothing but a commonplace origin beast in front of Orpheus.

For the sake of fun, he didn’t go all out but still ended up disappointed.

”Well, better learn why a demon from the abyss started appearing here.” Orpheus mumbled before starting to read through the demon’s memories to learn about the reason for his unexpected appearance.
