BURNING AFFECTION - EPISODE 66 AND 67

Two weeks later**

The mourning of King Jung’s death is just ending cos Jimin mourned him for complete two weeks after his burial

The palace is just coming back to it’s old self but the town is not the same as it used to be

Many are homeless cos they lost their homes during the war and a lot are starving cos of the burnt farms

Jimin’s sadness is much cos of this, he entered the king’s chamber that morning with the key he was given,,

He can just imagine Jung Mal, sitting on the throne right now and smiling at him

He smiled slowly as he walked there,

“Father” he whispered and made to hold him but he disappeared with the air

Jimin folded the fist and smiled sadly

“Can’t believe I’m missing you this way” he sniffed

He touched the throne and smiled again before starting to search for where the crown safe must be

It definitely cannot be out here so he went inside his inner chamber, into his bedroom

All his life, he has only entered his bedroom once and that was when he was still a kid, all their talks, they do it in the outer chamber

He looked around the room and inhaled Mal’s scent deeply

He closed his eyes, thinking of where the safe might be and when he opened it, his eyes caught a picture frame on the wall, it’s the picture of his grandfather… Late king Jung Shik

He went there and raised his hand to it, touching his face from the picture

“Grandfather” he said, detecting a keyhole in the picture, directly on his chest

He looked at the key in his hand and gently inserted it, surprisingly, it turned on it’s own and a door opened

Jimin stepped in and beheld darkness, he quickly stepped out again and found a burning candle stick which he used to light up the oil lamps in the room

His eyes widened after lightening the room when he saw the treasures in there

Pure gold and silver!, He looked around with great shock, he obviously wasn’t expecting to see such treasure

Then in the middle of all the treasures, sat the crown, staring at him

Jimin inhaled and tears escaped his eyes but he quickly wiped it

“Father….” He whispered, breathing hard again

Now the townspeople can be helped again, the sufferings can end too.

Jimin’s room**

“Gosh, she’s so cute even while crying, you just took milk , why the tears again” Suzy said, petting Byeol who’s crying loudly

” I really don’t know, she’s too stubborn, she’s crying because she’s not in my arms or her father’s arms, can’t she just stay in your arms and sleep?, She’s a lot of work” Kimora said, she just finished dressing up after taking her bath cos it’s still so early in the morning

“Don’t blame my Byeol, she just loves you both so much” Suzy replied as Kimora took her from Suzy

She immediately stopped crying and Kimora smiled

“My cute princess, you sure like troubling me right?” She said and Byeol smiled cutely

” You saw that right?, She smiled!” Suzy said

“Of course” Kimora replied and kissed Byeol’s lips

” I love you princess” she said, carrying her to herself

” Was that Byeol’s cries I heard some minutes ago?” Sera said, coming into the room

” The cutie was crying because I carried her when Kimora was in the bathroom” Suzy replied

“She’s always crying, come here” Sera said, taking her from Kimora but she immediately started crying again

“Gosh!, Don’t ever want to leave the arms of her parents, cry all you want, you’re staying in my arms for now” Sera said, patting her back slowly but she continued crying

” I knew it, you people are making my baby cry again” Jimin said, coming in fast, he quickly took her from Sera and pecked her cheeks, she stopped crying

“I love you” Jimin said and walked to the bed, he sat and Byeol slept off in his arms

“I just love her, how cuter will she be when she finally grows up, I can’t wait!” Suzy said

” Kitten, she didn’t trouble you much right?” Jimin asked Kimora

“She’s a whole lot of trouble but thankfully she’s sleeping already” she replied, sitting beside him

Jimin carefully placed Byeol in the cot and covered her well

“How do we handle the townspeople?, I can’t bear seeing them suffering again, it’s much” Sera said

” Father left a lot, it should be enough to reset everything” Jimin said

“What do you mean?” Kimora and Suzy asked at the same time

” I’ll take care of it… how’s Cory faring?” He asked

Cory’s room**

The shaman just finished attending to him, she picked her fan and fanned herself slowly

“Is he waking up soon?” Tania asked her worriedly

” Who knows?, It has been two long weeks so I’m expecting him to wake up soon, the wound has been healed, thanks to kimora’s blood” she replied

” Then, Should I expect him to wake up soon?” Tania asked

” Maybe” she replied and left the room

Tania stood and touched his face gently, he’s not responding

“It doesn’t look like he’s waking up anytime soon” she said sadly

She watched over him for a while before making an attempt to step out…

“Tania?” His voice said when she’s almost out, she turned back swiftly

“Cory!” She almost screamed, rushing back to him

His eyes is opened already and he looks ok, no sign of redness

“You’ve really woken up, I’m so glad, can you sit up?” She said and he sat up swiftly on the bed

She quickly felt his temperature and luckily it’s normal

“You’re ok, really good to go, I’m so glad you woke” she said, smiling happily but he kept an expressionless face

“What?, Why?, Are you feeling any pain anywhere?” She said, touching his face gently

” Talk, you didn’t wake up dumb did you?” She said fearfully

Cory kept staring at her without saying anything and that made her extra scared

“You can’t speak anymore?, No… it can’t be, I need to call back the shaman….” She said and made to go but he held her hand

She faced him and met an handsome smile on his face already

He stood and hugged her tightly, holding her dearly to himself, she hugged him back and he pressed her head to his chest

“Say something.. please” she said

“Bang!” He said and she smiled, breaking the hug to look at his face

“I thought you woke up dumb, I was so scared” she said

“Scared of having a blind husband?” He said and she blinked

” You look more pretty” he said

” I was so scared In the past two weeks when you wouldn’t wake up even after Kimora healed you with her blood, you scared me and I thought you’d die” she cried childishly and Cory laughed, wiping her tears

” I won’t ever die, not when I’ve not achieved my aims, wait…. how’s everyone?, How’s the people?, Outcome of the war?, Kimora’s baby and Kimora herself, did Mazu appear?” he said

” Everyone is fine though the townspeople are in pains right now, the Gongwon armies were defeated … And Mazu appeared but Petal left with him” Tania said and he inhaled

” Everything is back to normal, I’m awake so stop crying Tania” he said, rubbing her hair

She hugged him by herself this time but he quickly broke it to hold her face

“Will you …. Be mine?” He said seriously and Tania smiled

” I’ll think about it” she said

” I can’t wait for too long but it’s fine….I love you” he said and hugged her again

” We lost….his majesty” she said and he quickly broke the hug

” What!”

Hong’s place**

Strangely, Minho felt attached to his house and can’t even pinpoint why

He’s sitting in the big lawn of the house, watching everything that’s going on.

Hong’s house is among the few houses that escaped destruction during war so right now he accommodated a lot of the homeless townspeople, he’s the one feeding them too…he’s just so selfless and kind

Minho watched as he supervised his servants who are serving food for the people and when their eyes met, Hong came over

“Ahjussi” Minho smiled

“You didn’t tell me you’re here” Hong replied

“I just didn’t want to disturb” he replied and Hong started staring at his eyes just like he used to do anytime he visits

“Why do you like staring at my eyes?, Do I remind you of someone?” Minho asked

” Yes, you remind me of…. Jin Hong” he replied

“Who’s Jin Hong?” Minho asked

” My lost son, I lost him sixteen years ago, he should be around four then, i went farming as usual and left him home, little did I know he was following me, I got home and couldn’t find him, a general search was carried out In the village and sadly he wasn’t found, another farmer said he heard the voice of a crying child on his way back from the farm and searched for where it’s coming from but couldn’t find it, during the search, footprints were found beside a dry well and…..

“A dry well?” Minho said, spranging up shockingly

“Yes, maybe he fell in and was rescued by someone but I couldn’t find him, but I’m hoping I’ll see him someday, I’m hopeful” Minho replied simply

” A dry well” Minho said, remembering his foster father’s letter

“He has a mole on his wrist just like you” Hong added

” Not just like me, I don’t think it’s just like me …. I think I’m your son” Minho said

” Hu…huh?” Hong said shockingly

” I was told that I was found in a dry well in this Miryang by my foster father sixteen years ago too….the tenth month… right?” Minho said

” Yes, tenth month” Hong replied, still in shock

” Can’t believe this….. Can’t believe it, father!” He said loudly

“You’re…..my son?, My Jin Hong?” Hong said, looking at him shockingly

“My name is Jin Hong?” He said

“Yes, I named you Jin, your name is Jin” Hong replied and in the next minute, Minho is already in his arms, hugging him dearly

“I never knew I’ll meet my father so easily and quickly, I’ve never thought it’ll be as easy as this,the heavens are so kind to me…I finally met you” Minho cried

” My Jin, it’s really you, no wonder your eyes always makes me wonder, so the mole on your wrist wasn’t a coincidence, my Jin” Hong cried

” Father” Minho said tearfully

“My Jin” Hong replied tearfully too

Everyone watched the scene in confusion but when they heard him saying Jin, some understood immediately

Almost everyone in Miryang knows Hong once lost a son called Jin

Suzy entered the place and when she met them that way, she stood to watch them first, trying to figure out what’s happening before walking up to them

“Jin?” She said when she heard Hong saying it

They finally broke the hug and Hong faced her

“He’s my long lost Jin Hong, my son” he said

“Really?, You’re Jin?, It’s really you?” Suzy said, almost not believing

” Yes your highness” Minho replied

“And I told you to stop addressing me as your highness, I’m Suzy… congratulations by the way, I’m so happy for you both, Hong deserves happiness and so is you, I’m so happy!” She gushed as they hugged again

” Now I realize how great a true father’s love is…. father I miss you” Suzy thought as she watched them admiringly.

A week later**

Brothel**

” What the heck are you all doing!, I built this place with my money!, How dare you destroy it!” Yeo Sang said, trying to stop the palace guards from destroying the brothel but it’s not working

They kept breaking down everything they see and all the gisaeng girls rushed out excluding Demi though, Demi died during the war

“I told you to stop!” Yeo Sang yelled again but she was pushed away

” It’s the order of the crown prince, he’s preparing to take over the the throne, he’s wearing the crown few days to come, no brothel in Miryang, That’s the order from him” the guards replied and continued

Then the police from the bureau came in

“We have an order to arrest you for blackmailing” the first one said

” Blackmailing who?” She replied and Brayden appeared

” My lover, when you get to the police bureau, you’ll get back your lost senses, take her” he said and Yeo Sang was taken

The gisaeng girls all rushed out of the house that’s getting demolished.

Brayden smiled as he stepped into the streets

He can smell a new air around, the destroyed houses are already getting built and it’s quiet fast cos Jimin paid for all the supplies, the town will surely be in good shape before he’ll wear the crown

“All thanks to King Jung Mal, Flower goddess Petal, Flowerina herself, then our Jimin, and the king mother Sera….. Royalty I wish you’re still alive to witness today” he smiled, looking around and closing his eyes to inhale the air of change

He made his way to Ginelle’s house and surprisingly, he met her packing her stuffs

“Where are you going to?’ he asked quickly

” Brayden” she said, looking at him

“You’re going to Brayden?” He replied

“I’m thinking of going to Shila, I can settle down there and start a new life” she replied

” New life?, What about me?” He replied seriously

“You forgave me already, that’s enough, I don’t think I should bother you anymore, I already said I’m not worth you, there are a lot of chaste girls in Miryang, you can just go for one of them Brayden, I should leave, if I keep seeing you, then I won’t be able to let you go” she replied

“Are you thinking at all?” Brayden said

” What do you mean?”

” You hurt me, yes….you apologized….I forgave you already cos it wasn’t your fault, even if it was your fault, I’d readily forgive you cos I love you!, And now you’re talking about leaving me?, Scratch it….I still love you, how many times do you want me to say that!” he replied loudly

Tears escaped her eyes and she sniffed lightly

“I just felt…. I don’t deserve you and…

His lips is already on hers and that made the statement unfinished

He refused to let her break the kiss, he made it hard and tight, holding unto her tightly too

Ginelle kissed him back when she realized she really won’t be able to fight it, not like sue can resist him anyways

He broke it and held her face dearly then kissed her nose tip

“Don’t you ever talk about leaving me” he said

“Many men slept with me” she said, crying

” I don’t care, it’s me you love so only that is enough for me…I love you so much Ginelle, so much” he said, hugging her

” I love you Brayden, love you with everything” she replied, crying on his shoulder

Palace**

“You rarely visit the palace these days, always with your father, i don’t blame you, you both missed each other so much” Jimin said , walking down the stone prison with Minho

“I just can’t leave him for a second, I love him a lot, he treats me like an egg, you need to see the robes he bought for me already and surprisingly they’re all my size, I love father a lot” he replied

” I’m Jealous” Jimin said and Minho giggled

They got to Morris prison and met him almost lifeless on the floor

“Guards!” Jimin yelled

Guards rushed in and the door was opened

“Take him out and summon the physician” he ordered

Sera’s room**

” This red is too dark” Kimora said, dropping the robe with her

She’s currently choosing the robe she’s to wear on the enthronement day

“Then this” Sera said

“Yes, I’ve always known it’ll be the one” Kimora replied, taking it from her

” Byeol is still asleep” Sera said, looking at her on the bed

” Yes, thankfully” Kimora replied and they laughed

” I just heard Minho’s voice” Suzy said, standing and dropping the robe with her

” You should have been used to calling him Jin right now” Sera said and Suzy rushed out

” Hey!” She hollered at Minho who looked back with a smile

“Suzy!” He waved

“You should have told me you’re here” she said, hugging him

“Want to go see father with me?” He asked

“Of course, let’s go” she replied and they held hands, leaving the palace

Kimora watched them leave and smiled, then Janis appeared

“Janis” she smiled

“It’s been a while” he replied.

Night time, Jimin’s room**

Baby Byeol is busy sleeping on her coat on the bed with Kimora

Jimin is sleeping on the second bed but Kimora suddenly joined him

She slept beside him gently at first and he hugged her to himself before continuing his sleep but when she started caressing him, he understands her

“Hey kitten, it’s barely been a month, your underneath will still be wide and wet with blood” he said

” Are you kidding yourself?, It healed up a week ago and the blood stopped flowing a week ago too, I’m not human so expect strange things” she said and kissed him Immediately

He responded but quickly broke it
