Granny, Eden and Mai were oblivious of the eyes the townspeople gave them as they strode to Belsaw place (A place Angelo had prepared for them).

They know some strange eyes were watching them but as usual, they were in the world of their own. Granny supported Eden ‘s walk most of the time, because he’s still recovering. he easily gets winded when he walks too much.

They rest with every few moments. At a point, Mai started urging Eden to enter her back, so she’ll piggyback him.

“Never.” Eden was adamant to accept. “I’m a big boy”He’ll say

“Eden . I don’t want you to get more hurt because—”

“I’m more stronger than you know it.”

Granny stared at the stubborn Grandson of hers. She held her chin and took a deep breath. “let Mai help you out my boy.”Granny said. He shook his head

“like I said, I’m a big boy.. I don’t want someone to piggyback me.”

“Never.” he paused and smiled mischievously, “I can piggyback you if you’re tired though.”

Mai insisted

Eden pursed her lips in disapproval. Granny chuckled as they started walking again.

Any passerby at that moment stares at them. To them,they are strangers.
The way they talked, their mode of dressing and most importantly their appearance

They finally arrived at the door of Belsaw house. They knocked.

The door opened and a man came out. An elderly man and no doubt, he stood behind the door, looking flustered. His hair was a mess and a little blood perched on his cheek, looking like a scratch wound.

“What are you both doing here?” he asked, his voice stiff. he seems not to be in a friendly mode.

Mia shifted uncomfortably on her feet. “Uhm… Angelo. You know…i mean the msfia. And eeh…the mafia son who’s the boss now, he sent us here. I’m his mother.” Granny said.

“uhmm… Huh. Come in”He replied . Granny sighed and walked in with Eden and Mai

The door opened again and Jenna groaned
“I told you I don’t wanna eat. I don’t care if I broke the rule. If he wanna kill me like my best friend then let him do it. I aren’t leaving this room and I aren’t eating too. He should do his worst! “Jenna grunted without raising her face up. Her face was dipped in her pillow

“you’re stubborn. No doubt” Landon said in a thin voice,
Jenna froze and her heart sinked. She never thought it was him
And the fact that he was so closed made her froze

She could feel his hot breath fanning her neck and she dare not raise her face
Silence met his request.

“You aren’t scared of death anymore?”He asked. She only sniffed in returned
“Staying starved is unhealthy for you. C’mon you need to eat something ”

“Please?” he added. Just hearing the word please, it was tearing at her heart. Jenna raised her head slowly and looked up.
Her face was so messed up with tears. She was like a living dead

“I don’t wanna eat. I wanna see my best friend. I wanna see her”She cried uncontrollably. Landon watched her cried for some minutes, her head and her eyes hurt. Her eyes all red and swollen, and yet, the tears wouldn’t stop coming.

Landon hugged her tightly to himself and that only made her cried more
“It’s gonna be fine”He said stroking her hair.

“honey!! “He called again climbing the stairs. He got to the room he shared with his dad wife. He opened the door and entered. When he was fully in, he shut it behind
“Honey”He called again but this time, more worriedly

Finally, a dirty blond hair slowly stuck her head out from behind the wardrobe. She took a peak at her husband .

Mr Walton quickly turned to the sound of the opening wardrobe. His mouth went agape seeing his wife

“leave! I’m trying to feed my child…” She whispered, her voice hoarse from screaming. Her face couldn’t be seen because her hair covered it all up.

He shook his head miserably. A moment she will act fine and the next moment, she will act insane

“honey… . You need to eat. I bought you something.. Please!?”

Mrs Beatrice let out an empty laughter. I’ve told you several times I won’t eat until my child does. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten.” she muttered in hatred as she held the doll to herself

“I’ve not forgotten. How can I forget?. You need to eat something honey. It’s not even our child. It’s just a doll…. A mere doll” Mr Walton blinked back his tears.

“don’t say that or our child is gonna get provoked. I don’t want to eat. I aren’t hungry”She said

“You have to try and eat, you look like bones.” Mr Walton urged on.

She shook her head vigorously. She started scratching her wild dirty blond hair. “I can’t, I can’t. If my child don’t eat, no foos. If my child don’t eat, no food. if my child don’t eat, no food. if my child don’t eat,no food. no food .”

As she started reciting those words, Mr Walton really did burst out crying. “Oh, Beatrice …what am I going to do with you?”

She kept on reciting those words, clinging her doll to herself and trapped in another world entirely.

“This is so terrible…! This is so horrible…! Oh, my honey, I can’t imagine what you’re is going through. She’s trapped in her head! She’s trapped!” he sobbed uncontrollably

Ever since she came back from the hospital, she has been acting weirdly

“Beatrice ?” he called softly, wiping the tears from his eyes.

Slowly, she looked away from her doll and stared at her husband

“you need to eat and sleep.”He said

She shook her hair vigorously, causing it to wave all around her. “if my child don’t bath, no bath. If my child don’t bath, no bath, ”

Mr Walton teared up again.
“Don’t say that honey, please don’t “He cried

Finally, Mrs Beatrice raised a dirty hand, pushed her hair to the back of her ear and stared at him.

Mrs Beatrice eyes watered up. “stop crying. You’re gonna wake my child. Arianna doesn’t like tears?” she said

He nodded blinking hard to keep the tears at bay.

“do you promise to stop crying? “She asked
“Yes, honey . I will make sure of that.” he promised sincerely.

“no more tears”He promised again

Mrs Beatrice took a faltering step away from the wardrobe, coming out. She stopped and hesitated.
There was Silence as she continued walking again. The doll was firming cling to her chest

And then, she ran from across the bedroom and threw herself on top of her husband throwing her now thin arms tightly around him, she clung tight to him.

Mr Walton lost balance and fell. Mrs Beatrice giggled as she also lands on top of him

Mr Walton smile not minding the fall. Not caring his wife dirty state, he wrapped his arms around her and held on tight. “It’s okay. I’ve got you.” he soothed softly.

he felt tears splash on her shoulder as she whispered, “Can’t believe Arianna is here with us. Arianna is finally safe honey .” She muttered

Mr Walton sobbed. His wife has completely lost her state of mind. If only she knew it was just a doll. If only he knew Arianna hasn’t been found

He was sure of one thing. His daughter is saved and he knows he’s gonna find her soonest

“I need to get to the clan. I need to kill him. Take the necklace, take my daughter and come back to take the love of my life”Richmond said and smile remembering Beatrice

“Don’t tell me you’re into her. She’s fucking married and same with you”Boniface said
“To hell with that. If I can’t have Beatrice, no one will “He said and his brother heaved

“I should go back to the convent. Needs to end his fucking brother life. They killed our parents. We’re going to kill them all and end their linage. They made us orphan. No mercy”Boniface said

“Yes we’ll kill them all. Destroy his clan. Leave this country and begins a new life”Richmond grinned
His dream life with Beatrice and his daughter. “We’ll definitely make a lovely family “He said in his head

As Eden slept in her Granny’s arms, Mai stood there, watching Granny and Belsaw discussed .

Many things ran through her head. Maybe she would have been married to the old man if only she didn’t run away and met Angelo and Bluey who was in danger then

Her dad would be searching for her but of course, she was no where to be found. She knows her mum Will be the one receiving all the beatings but she care less since her mother never showed her real love.

Hope he doesn’t kill her

“why did you decided to move to Chicago “Granny voice came in and that brought Mai out of her thoughts

She looked at Belsaw and then to Granny
He was silent

Time dragged by, his laboured breaths filled the air.

He spoke up

The scene was hurting bandini eyes too much, his mind was overridden with so much anger and rage.

“you stole from me. How dare you! “Bandini yelled. He hit his face with the back of his gun. Blood gestured out of his mouth immediately
Bandini raised him up and flee him across the room. He landed on the floor and he growls

“Argghhh “His two young sons screamed in horror. Belsaw eyes widened seeing his wife in the pool of blood.

“unfortunately she took the first shot but not this second one. No one is gonna save you from this second shot “He muttered and pointed the gun at him

“Father!! “The two little boy shouted as he shot their father

“you mean my husband killed both parents. Oh poor boys. They were left orphans. My husband is cruel “Granny cried

“What happened to the boys? “Granny asked
“He adopted and train them”he replied
“I guessed to be some mafia guards “Granny said

“But how did it relates to you leaving Italy and coming to Chicago? “Granny asked again

Belsaw sighed and clenched his jaw
“I thought he was cruel but I guessed wrong. He saved the man and his wife. The wife died on the spot. Only the man was saved”Belsaw said
“you mean after shooting them, he also saved them. Isn’t it crazy “Granny asked and he nodded

“I guessed the man is still alive. Where’s him?. What’s his name?. Where can I find him.”Granny ranted
“He lives in Chicago. His name is Belsaw “He replied and Granny gasped

The guard burst opened and a guard walked in. He bowed

Arianna climbed the bed and laid down on it. She gave him her back as usual, her elbows on the bed, she rested her head in between them.
