Jack was about to turn around and wake Caroline up. But he saw Kirk standing outside the car wearing a windbreaker and holding a coat, gesturing for him to be quiet.

Jack understood his signal and quietly unlocked the backseat door.

Kirk opened the door and gently covered Caroline’s face with the coat to prevent her from waking up due to the bright lights. Then, he bent down and carried Caroline in his arms.

After Kirk was done, Jack exited the car and gently closed the door. When he looked up, he saw Kirk carrying Caroline.

He folded his arms and leaned against the car door. After watching them for a while, he shook his head.

His boss was really doting on his wife. It was a pity they were… Jack didn’t even know why they were fighting, but he really hoped they could make up soon.

He watched them a little longer before getting in the car and driving away.

Right now, Caroline was sleeping soundly in Kirk’s arms. She even had a dream. She dreamt about the day when she had become the CEO of Evans Group.

It had been so lively back then. Kirk had taken her to celebrate along with Gwen and Sean.

However, no one celebrated with her this time. She suddenly felt so lonely and cold. She couldn’t help but fidget in her sleep.

Kirk looked down at her and swallowed at the sight. He watched the restless woman in his arms

Kirk gritted his teeth and strode toward the elevator. However, Caroline became increasingly

After a while, he walked out of the room to the balcony. Then, he immediately called Charles. “Is there any news about that mysterious person?”

Charles remained silent at his question.

“What about the other person?”

Charles said sadly, “… Sir, my competency really isn’t the problem here. You gave me too little

information.”

“Oh.” The veins on Kirk’s forehead twitched at his words.

“So you’re complaining that there’s too little information to work with? All right, you can stop

investigating. I’ll just let you raise penguins in a secluded winter country.”

“N–no, it’s okay!”

Charles was so frightened that he quickly promised, “I’ll find the information you need as soon as

possible.”

Kirk hung up the phone with a sullen expression. When he turned around and looked at the warm

lights in the bedroom, he relaxed his frown immediately.

But when he thought of the current situation between him and Caroline, his eyes turned cold.

When he found the person behind all this, he would ensure they had a slow and brutal death.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Avery suddenly shivered.
