By the time Caroline recovered, half an hour had already passed.

Everyone else was waiting in the dining room, not daring to make a sound. They silently watched

Kirk, who had been by Caroline’s side the whole time.

Angelo wiped his tears and said in Macovian, “How touching.”

Gwen secretly asked Sean what Angelo had said. After getting an answer, she couldn’t help

grimacing.

“Touching? What’s touching about this? If a man really loves a woman, he should keep himself in

check.”

Angelo was confused. “But that gentleman seems to really like that lady. This is the love I’ve always wanted.

“The reason why I haven’t gotten married despite having many girlfriends is because I don’t have

someone who makes me feel the emotion of love.”

Gwen’s expression was dark. But she had to admit that even though she knew the inside story,

she often felt like Kirk loved Caroline.

“It was precisely because of this that she was even more upset. She didn’t understand men at all.

If he loved her so much, why had he gotten married to someone else?

Even if he had gotten married before he met Caroline, he could just get a divorce if he wanted to be

with her.

He wanted Caroline, yet he didn’t want to end his other marriage. Things like this didn’t make

sense.

He couldn’t have it both ways!

“Let’s go.” Caroline had already sat up on the couch. Her voice was still weak.

She had to let Kirk help her up. A smile appeared on her pale face when she passed by the host.”

The man and woman hurriedly waved their hands and walked the four of them to the door.

Sean knew Kirk very well. He knew he wanted to ask Angelo what had happened, so he nodded in agreement. “Go ahead!”

After saying that, he glanced at Caroline, who was leaning against the window and looking out with empty eyes.

Deep down, he couldn’t help but wonder who Dolly was and why she had had such an impact on Caroline.

Five minutes later, Kirk walked out of the house with an indifferent expression.

Sean couldn’t figure out what his friend was thinking, but he didn’t plan to ask any questions. So he started the car and drove toward the hotel.

About three hours later, they finally returned to the hotel. As soon as the car stopped, Kirk had already unbuckled his seat belt and gotten out of the car. He opened the back door.

Then, ignoring Caroline’s protests and Gwen’s disapproving gaze, he picked up Caroline and strode into the hotel.

Caroline struggled a few times at first, but she didn’t have enough strength. So she simply let Kirk carry her into the elevator.

The incident with Dolly had affected her a lot. She didn’t have a single ounce of strength right

now.

“Let’s go.”

Sean cocked his head and teased Gwen, saying, “Or do you want me to carry you out of the car too?”

When Gwen heard his words, she glared at him. “What’s Kirk going to do with Caroline?”

Sean shrugged. “I don’t know.”

Gwen tried to get out of the car, but Sean grabbed her wrist.

His familiar touch caused goosebumps on Gwen’s arm. She wanted to jerk her hand away, but he held her wrist tighter, as if on purpose.

He looked at her earnestly. “You can’t follow them. Let them solve their own problems.”
