Sean braced himself several times before saying, “Kirk has his reasons for having multiple marriages.”

Gwen sneered, “Did someone hold him at gunpoint and force him to get married? My dad loves using that word. Every time my mom caught him cheating on her, he would say he had his reasons for doing so.

“He would say that he slept with other women for the sake of his company, or he didn’t know what came over him.

“But I could tell he enjoyed being with other women, so why couldn’t he say that? Couldn’t he own up to his mistakes?” Gwen became more and more agitated as she talked, completely forgetting that she was in the car.

Caroline felt relieved after hearing Sean’s words. She closed her eyes and fell asleep again after a

Meanwhile, Kirk wasn’t sleeping in the passenger seat at all. He simply kept his eyes closed and

pretended to sleep.

He had listened to every word of Gwen and Sean’s conversation, and he agreed with Gwen’s
