After Adrian left, Sean walked back to Kirk’s side. “I didn’t expect Mr. Sorkin to be so fond of

Caroline.”

Kirk looked at Sean coldly.

Feeling a chill on his back, Sean quickly changed the subject. “What’s going on with you and

Caroline? I saw you two holding hands and coming back together. Have you reconciled?”

Kirk glared at Sean again. Only then did Sean realize that he had said something st* pid.

If he learned that his partner was polygamous, he wouldn’t be able to forgive them unless there

was a misunderstanding like Kirk’s.

But since Kirk couldn’t tell Caroline the truth, she had no idea that there was a misunderstanding.

“But you don’t have to worry.” With a smile, Sean lightened the gloomy atmosphere and hooked

his arm around Kirk’s shoulder.

“I talked to Gwen when you were out looking for Caroline. It turns out they’re here in Macovo to

find proof that Gwen is innocent. But since neither of them speak Macovian, they’re having

trouble with the language barrier.”

He paused, then continued, “So I took the initiative and volunteered us to be their translators

tomorrow. How about it? I’m a good friend, aren’t I? I’m still considering your feelings at the most

crucial moments.”

Kirk mercilessly exposed his intentions. “You want to be with Gwen, right?”

“Don’t you want to be with Caroline?”

Kirk silently turned around and walked to the elevator.

Sean followed him. He asked, “Are you going or not?”

Kirk glanced at him. Only then did Sean realize that he had asked another st* pid question.

He sighed. He was so happy that he had gotten lost in his own world.

The next day, Caroline learned that two translators would be joining them. It didn’t take much

effort for her to figure out that they were Sean and Kirk.

“I’m sorry, Carol.” Gwen held her head, regretting that she hadn’t resisted Sean’s relentless

pursuits. “Sean said a lot of nice things to me back then. You know me. I lose my rationality when

I see a handsome face.

“By the time I realized it, I was already nodding to everything he said. How about this? I’ll tell them they’re not coming with us when we meet them later.”

Caroline asked, “Can you guarantee you won’t be charmed by Kirk and Sean?”

Gwen went silent at her words.

“They’re here just for us, and they’ll follow us wherever we go. So, there’s no point in saying anything. Besides, we do need someone to be our translator. So we can make good use of them.”

“You have a point. We’ll just treat them as tools! Besides, I got involved in this misunderstanding because Sean was with me. 1

“So why should we work ourselves rugged while he sits back and enjoys the show?” For a

moment, Gwen had the idea of ruining Sean.

After a while, Sean and Kirk arrived.

Caroline glanced over at Kirk from the corner of her eye. Since she hadn’t taken a good look at him

for a while, she felt like he had lost weight. Then, she forced herself to look away.

Meanwhile, Gwen had already begun her plans to work Sean to the bone.

She directed him to move all their things to the car and then asked him to drive. Sean obeyed her

orders patiently, without any complaints.

When they got into the car, Gwen and Caroline sat in the back seat.
