Be The President’s Wife by Chance - Season 1 Episode 1
Time: 10 o’clock in the morning
Location: Sophie Castle
Today was the wedding day of the Nelson and Stopford families in the capital city.
Illuminated by the crystal chandelier above them, the waiter shuttled through the banquet hall, holding champagne and red wine in his hand, while the vermillion carpet lay on the ground.
The castle was filled with guests, and the wine flowed like a forest.
Families of the upper–class, renowned figures from the capital, and even the mayor of the city all came.
It was really a luxurious feast.
Though the atmosphere should have been joyous and vibrant, everyone’s faces now bore a strange expression.
Only because –
The great clock hanging atop the castle had already tolled ten times. The auspicious hour had passed.
The groom had yet to arrive.
The live broadcast had already been aired three times, yet no matter how experienced the host was, he was still unable to contain the chaos.
The audience was faintly agitated.
“Why hasn’t the groom come yet? Did something happen?”
“I wonder if he can come!”
Someone asked suspiciously, “What do you mean?”
“The media is in an absolute frenzy! This morning, at the wedding of the Nelson family’s eldest daughter, Halle, and Ethan Stopford, the second daughter, Holly, took off. The photo shows that Ethan headed to the airport at six o’clock to chase after Holly. It’s uncertain if he’ll be able to make it back in time!”
Someone sighed, “Halle was lost when she was a child and was only found seven years ago. That’s why Ethan and Holly had grown up together and

become childhood sweethearts. If Halle hadn’t suddenly come back, I’m afraid this marriage wouldn’t have happened. She broke up a good couple just like that.”
“That’s not right! The Stopford family has always wanted to marry First Miss Nelson, the direct descendant of Timothy Nelson!”
Someone waved their hand and said, “Holly’s father is Riley Nelson. He’s the second son of the Nelson family, but he was adopted by Old Master Nelson after Halle went missing. To ease the pain of his eldest brother and sister–in–law’s loss, Riley put his daughter Holly in the eldest son’s house to be taken care of for ten years. Even if Halle returns, nothing can be changed.”
“Timothy and his wife hold Holly in the highest regard. Holly is, in fact, the most likely heir to the Nelson Group!”
“Of course! Ten years of relationship is not fake.”
“Even if there is some blood relation between Halle and Timothy, it is hard to say who is close and who is not!”
Someone snorted and laughed, “It’s said that when they first found Halle, she was a real hick. Her face was a waxy yellow, and she was plain as a pikestaff. She didn’t know any manners, and even Timothy and his wife weren’t too fond of her. If I were Ethan, I’d go for Holly too.”
“She was abandoned on the day of her wedding. If I were her, I would dig a hole and bury myself!”
“It is a shame that Halle, born into a privileged family and with a high standing, ended up being used as a tool for someone else’s advancement!” There was a burst of ridicule in the surroundings.
On the second floor, in the dressing room.
In front of the makeup mirror.
The small oval face of the beauty in the mirror had delicate facial features, her eyes as clear as grapes and containing a charming mist, slightly raised at the ends.
Her aura was faint yet gentle.
The beauty’s expression was airy, as if oblivious to the clamor oute: 1 door.

With a “bang“, the door of the dressing room was pushed open.
Sadie Harper, her good friend, stormed through the door and exclaimed indignantly, “This is outrageous! On such a momentous occasion, Ethan had the audacity to be tardy for so long! Is he aware of the gossip going around?”
The beauty in front of the mirror said lightly, “He won’t come.”
Sadie was stunned.
She widened her eyes. “What does this mean? Is he trying to dodge the nuptials?”
Halle did not speak. She picked up the eyebrow pencil and carefully traced it.
Her eyebrows were beautiful, like distant black ink, as dark as autumn,
water.
Beside her, the phone screen on the table was still lit.
Just two minutes ago, Ethan sent her a message:
[Halle, Holly has cut her wrist in a suicide attempt and her wrist is severely injured. I cannot rush back in time, can we postpone our wedding?]
A moment later, Halle put down her eyebrow pencil and just inquired, “Where are my parents?”
Sadie pursed her lips.
As if afraid that she would be sad, after a while Sadie murmured, went to find Holly.”
Halle paused.
Yes.
On such an important day, her parents, fiancé, and younger brother were all absent.
Sadie was indignant, “The Nelson family are really oblivious! They treat a conniving woman as if she’s their pride and joy. They can’t even tell who is their real daughter! And Ethan, I should have known he wasn’t trustworthy!”
Halle lightly raised her eyes.
The noise below seemed to be even louder.

“Sadie, help me placate the guests on behalf of me.” “Okay.” Sadie nodded.
As soon as Sadie left.
The dressing room quieted down.
At this time, the phone suddenly rang again.
It was Ethan calling.
Halle glanced at it and did not reach out to pick it up.
Lightly raising her hand, she casually removed the hairpin that was tied up behind her head.
Immediately.
A head of jet–black hair fell down like thick ink, like the sigh of a drama.
She looked at herself in the mirror.
Silence.
Gentle.
Beneath this flawless and emotionless facade, the heart had experienced its share of highs and lows, riddled with holes, yet no one seemed to care.
The dressing room was so empty.
It was as if she was in the bottom of the sea, dull, suffocating, and difficult to breathe.
A long while.
She stood up, ignoring the vibrating cell phone, opened the door, and walked out.
Downstairs.
The wide road behind Sophie Castle was empty.
Perhaps the Nelson and Stopford families had prepared in advance, so the road ahead and back had been cleared.
And at this moment.
A black, luxurious Lincoln car sped over from a distance.
In the car.

was calmly informing the man in the back seat. “Sir, we’ve received word from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister of Ustraria will be here at 9:30 this evening. When the time comes, please go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs‘ hall to officially meet with them.”
The man said with a light tone, “Yeah.”
The man’s aura was extremely cold, his head and neck were straight, and there was a sense of oppression.
A pair of long, narrow, pitch–black eyes revealed a bit of a cold and lonely spirit. The aura around his body was mature and cold, noble and aloof. Even if he just sat there, he could not conceal the aura around his body. He only raised his eyes lightly.
He was as if gazing upon a multitude of ants that he could easily crush beneath his feet.
Just then…
The man turned his eyes to the side and his gaze landed on the ‘Sophie Castle‘ at the top of the castle.
“Stop.”
The driver in front suddenly braked.
Cayden asked carefully, “Sir, what’s wrong?”
“What is this place?”
“Sophie Castle.” Cayden glanced at it.
“Because of the many romantic tales that circulate around Sophie Castle, it has always been known as the ‘Love Castle‘ in our country. At present, the two most prominent families in the capital, the Nelson and Stopford families, are being united in marriage. It is said that even Mayor Smor has sent his congratulations. Would you like to go in and take a look?”
The man’s gaze fell on the castle for a few seconds.
Gently twirling the black, cold sandalwood Buddha beads around his cold wrist bone, his deep, dark eyes showed no emotion.
“No need.”
He retracted his gaze and said coldly, “Let’s go.”
“Yes,” Cayden replied.
The driver was about to start the engine.

The man’s eyes suddenly narrowed as he coldly and distantly regarded the figure in front of him.
A hundred meters away.
A woman in a wedding dress seemed to have just come out of the back door of the castle.
She looked delicate, but her expression was a little dazed.
She glanced over.
The pair of glass–like eyes were cold and clear, but they were broken and dripping.
Although she was dressed in her wedding gown, her long hair was left unbound, and there was no veil adorning her.
The white dress was swaying on the ground, and her figure was so thin that it was like a gust of wind could blow her down.
The warm light shone on her, elongating her reflection, like a homeless ghost.
“Wait.” The man suddenly called out.
What happened again?
Cayden followed the man’s line of sight.
That was… Miss Nelson?
Shouldn’t she be at the wedding scene?
He looked hesitant. “Today’s Skut Blye’s entertainment and business news have been dominated by Young Master Stopford. It appears that the
rumors are true…”
At this time.
The eyes of the man behind him darkened, and he suddenly ordered, “Hit her.”
Cayden was stunned.
The driver was also stunned.
The two were dumbfounded!
They both suspected that they had heard wrong.
The driver observed the man’s face in the rearview mirror. Cayden could not help but look back.

The man’s fingers that were twirling the sandalwood beads paused, and his deep eyes were as cold as knives.
It seemed that he did not hear wrong.
A smirk appeared on the serious face of the secretary general, who had been in his ten–thousand–year–old formal appearance.
The driver received the order, tightened the steering wheel, stepped on the accelerator, closed his eyes, and rushed over…
In the end, he had scruples in his heart.
He did not dare to move too fast.
Halle faintly heard the sound of a traffic stream behind her. She looked back and saw that the car was rushing towards her.
But it was already too late…
“Bang!”
Her waist was hit by the car, and she staggered to the ground. Her calf rubbed against the ground, and the pain made her face pale.
The car stopped.
The driver was about to get out of the car.
The door of the back seat had been pushed open.
The man stepped out of the car, his tall figure slowly walking towards her. Halle was lying on the ground, in so much pain that she couldn’t stand up. In front of her, a shadow suddenly enveloped her.
A slender hand reached out to her.
The cold white wrist bone of that hand was adorned with a string of black sandalwood Buddhist beads, giving off a sense of abstinence and sharp
neatness.
“Miss, may I ask if you need help?”
Halle looked up.
Her eyes met the man’s.
Those eyes were sharp and cold, full of deterrence, which made her freeze on the spot in an instant.
The sunlight above her was a bit dazzling.
The man seemed to be covered in a golden glow as he stood in front of

her.
His entire body was extremely noble and cold.
He was like an Emperor who had walked out of a medieval castle.
Noble and grand.
It made one’s heart palpitate.
As if sensing her expression, the corners of the man’s lips curled into an imperceptible arc.
“Miss, may I ask if you need help?”
