Nicole didn’t refuse Zachary and went to his house. She was very exhausted; she practically fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. Her sleep was deep. After her eyes closed, her mind plunged into darkness.

Nicole had no idea how long she had slept, but she felt weak and lethargic when she woke up. It seemed like she had overslept. So, she got up and leaned against the headboard of the bed before checking the time. She had fallen asleep at noon yesterday and only woke up at ten the next morning. No wonder she felt boneless. Nicole rubbed the bridge of her nose. At least she no longer felt fuzzy after all that sleep. However, the hunger from not eating for a long time was bothersome. Thus, she got out of bed and went downstairs.

This was Nicole’s first time entering Zachary’s house. The interior of the house was simple, with no ostentatious luxury in sight, and this made her feel at ease.

Nicole could hear excited laughter before she even stepped down in her slippers. She stopped at the top of the stairs and looked down, only to see Zachary and Hayden playing happily on the couch by the window.

Zachary was dressed in a white shirt. His black hair fell in soft waves around his face, and a genuine smile was seen tugging at his lips. The warm golden sunlight streamed in through the window, illuminating his face and making it look soft and gentle.

Hayden, on the other hand, had his arms around Zachary’s neck, whining for Zachary to play with him.

They really looked like father and son.
Nicole didn’t turn down Zochory, where she went to his home. She woes for too exhousted; she procticolly fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. Her sleep wos deep. After her eyes closed, her mind descended into dorkness.

Nicole could wear bright loughter even before she went downstoirs in her slippers. She stood by the top of the stoirs where she looked down, only to see Zochory on Hoyden ploying hoppily on the couch by the window.

Zochory wos dressed in a white shirt. His block today fell in soft woves around his face, where the genuine smile was seen tugging at his lips. Worm golden sunlight streomed in from the window, illuminating his face and making him look soft and gentle.

Hoyden, on the other hond, hod his orms wrapped around Zochory’s neck, whining for Zochory to plead with him.

They indeed looked like another ond son.

Hearing the sound of footsteps, the two looked up in unison. Hayden reached out his arms to Nicole. “Mommy!”

Nicole smiled as she quickly walked over and carried her son. Seeing that the blush had left his face and he didn’t seem to be in any pain, she felt relieved.

“Nicole, Miss Alicia made breakfast. The food is still warm. You should eat something first,” Zachary said worriedly.

Although Zachary had always been nice to her, this was the first time they had been together. It was understandable that Nicole felt uncomfortable with it.

On the other hand, Joseph was a regular at nightclubs and the like, so naturally he had quite the network. When he embarrassed himself at the F&M Apparel annual dinner, the incident spread like wildfire in the fashion world. Mann Clothing Co. ended up losing a lot of orders for the following season, and his father almost beat him up because of it.

This incident alone put Joseph in a bad mood, but he never expected that the bandits he encountered for Queenie would come to him with some new information, telling him that the people involved were in prison now. If Joseph had no way of rescuing them, they would simply take everyone down with them, as no one would be safe from their wrath. And because of this, Joseph was in a headache.

After ending the call, he immediately dialed Queenie’s number.

Queenie was still bitter about not being able to kill Nicole’s son. When she saw Joseph’s call, she became even more angry.

“Queenie, what the hell did you order those thugs I hired for you to do?” Joseph asked her through gritted teeth.

These bandits had some level of influence. Ordinary people would be afraid of them to some extent, but this time the bandits were in prison. From the looks of it, they might be there indefinitely.

“It’s nothing important. Why are you panicking?” Queenie couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

“They’ve all been arrested. If I don’t help them get out of there, we’ll be dragged down!” Joseph said angrily. He had only tried to stay by her side because of how useful she would be to him, but he never thought she would end up causing so much trouble.

A shocked look flashed across Queenie’s face. “I thought that bitch Nicole said she wasn’t going to pursue the matter any further?!”

“Nicole? Lisa?” Joseph felt his vision go black. Queenie had actually gotten the bandits to go after Lisa?! He felt his limbs go cold and numb, as if they had been loaded with lead. Even his breathing became labored.

If something were to happen to Lisa, F&M Apparel and Gardner Corporation wouldn’t be the only ones bothered; the entire fashion industry would be after their heads!

Queenie lowered her head and thought things over. Suddenly, a thought seemed to strike her. “This afternoon, at the usual place. I have an idea to make sure Nicole doesn’t continue to interfere.”

“Queenie, whet on eerth did you order those thugs I sourced for you to do?” Joseph sked her through gritted teeth.

Those thugs had some level of influence. Reguler people would be effreid of them to some extent, but this time, the thugs were in jeopardy. From the sound of things, they might be in there indefinitely.

“It’s nothing important. Whet ere you penicking ebout?” Queenie couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

“They ell got confused. If I don’t help them to get out of there, we’re going to be dregged down!” Joseph seid iretely. He only tried to get on her good side because of how useful she would be to him, but he never thought that she would end up using so much trouble.

A shocked look appeared on Queenie’s stool. “I thought that bitch, Nicole, said she wouldn’t chase the metter anymore?!”

“Nicole? Lise?” Joseph felt his vision go dark. Queenie had actually gotten the bandits to go after Lise?! He felt his limbs go cold and numb, as if they were overloaded with blood. Even his breathing became labored.

If anything were to happen to Lise, F&M Apperel and Gerdner Corporation wouldn’t be the only ones bothered; the entire fashion industry would be after them!
