Ambition and obsession - Season 1 Episode 26
Sitting helplessly on the couch, not even Nicole herself knew how she managed to survive the night. Beneath her eyes were the smudges of her ruined makeup that she had yet to remove, making her look extremely mean. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to describe her as a banshee.
Meanwhile, by her side was Zachary, who was constantly making calls and contacting everyone he knew to find out Hayden’s whereabouts.
Each passing minute agitated her more as she remained in one posture, sitting stationary on the couch until the sun rose. Because she had kept her eyes still for so long, when she finally moved her eyes, she felt a burning sensation in them.
Faced with her absent-minded gaze, Zachary couldn’t help but feel pained. Pouting, he turned to Nicole and suggested, “Nicole, why don’t you go get some rest? I’ll tell you as soon as I get news about Hayden.”
After her timbre, there was finally movement on her frozen face. She turned to Zachary with a forced smile and in a weak voice, she replied, “I’m fine.”
Hearing this, Zachary hesitated to say anything, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to convince her given his immense concern for his son. He subtly let out a sigh and continued contacting his colleagues. He gave up on sleeping the entire night because he was also worried about Hayden.
Just as Nicole walked away, her phone beeped in her pocket. Immediately, she took out the phone and saw that it was a call from Colton. She hurriedly answered the call and put the phone to her ear.
“My men found some news about your son. He was last seen in Pine Harbor. A witness saw some bandits carrying him onto a ship,” Colton said.
Immediately, Nicole’s heart began to pound as she gripped the phone so tightly that her hand turned pale. Send? Hayden was washed out to sea? Suddenly, her vision went black, but thankfully, Zachary managed to hold her back, or she would have collapsed to the ground. Panting, she quickly moved on to the topic, asking, “President Gardner, have you found the bandits yet?”
“Just information on them. If all goes according to plan, we should be able to locate them today. I’ll update you as soon as I can,” Colton said.

“Thank you, President Gardner,” she said immediately.
“You can forgo the courtesy,” he replied weakly. After hanging up, Colton lay back and rested his entire body against the back of the chair, visibly tired. With his slender fingers, he pinched the bridge of his nose, massaging it gently. Just as he was about to rest for a while and close his dreamy eyes, the phone on his desk rang. He answered the call, his hand on his forehead, and asked coldly, “What is it?”
“President Gardner, the bad guys have just completed their travel procedures. It looks like they’re going into hiding. We’re now closing the airport and all that’s left to do is wait,” the caller relayed.
Colton nodded. He hadn’t slept all night to look for Nicole’s son. He then asked in his hoarse voice, “Have you seen the boy?”
“Not yet. For now, we can just look for these bandits, and then we’ll get the kid’s whereabouts out of them.” Having received Colton’s commission, the informant and his team searched for Hayden all night. Therefore, they were also exhausted. They started by going through the surveillance footage to track the kid before finding the bandits,
“Mm. Find the boy at all costs,” Colton ordered coldly. He loosened his grip on his eyebrows as he realized that his efforts were worth it. Once he could help Lisa, the Gardner Corporation would surely prosper in the clothing industry.
After all, the purpose of a businessman was to accumulate profits.
