As Colton stepped on the gas, his car roared and roared, speeding towards his destination. What should have been an hour-long drive was shortened to just forty minutes.

Having arrived at her destination, Nicole lifted the skirt of her dress and quickened her pace. Ignoring the fact that she was still wearing high heels, she walked upstairs, only to find that the door to her house was wide open. Traces of the door being forced open were apparent. The house was in complete disarray. All the wardrobes in the bedrooms had been opened, and even the fruit platter on the living room table had been thrown onto the floor. Evidently, the situation that had occurred earlier was quite extreme.

Feeling a tingling sensation in her nose, she searched the room while shouting, “Hayden! Hayden!” However, the house was silent and no movement was heard.

Just like that, Colton, who had just parked the car, arrived at the scene, realizing that the burglars must have invaded the messy house.

Nicole then searched every room without missing a single corner. Unfortunately, her son was nowhere to be found. She suddenly burst into tears. Her son meant everything to her, and there was no point in living without him. Looking at the devastated woman, Colton felt a pang in his heart for some reason. He subtly frowned, remembering how he had never been a nosy person. However, perhaps it was because the woman in front of him could be beneficial to the Gardner Corporation, as he came up with a virtuous excuse. “I have some connections. Send me some photos of your son, and I’ll look for him.” Once Nicole accepted his help, she would be indebted to him, and it would be advantageous if Nicole, as the head designer of F&M Apparel, paid off her debt. The woman sniffed with absolutely red eyes. Regardless, she managed to remain rational. At that moment, crying would do no good, as the most important thing was to look for her son. She didn’t even dare to imagine what would happen if she failed in that. Quickly, she took out her phone and opened the photo gallery to look for her son’s photos. Pulling up the images, she realized that she only had Colton’s number before turning to him and saying, “Can you add me on Facebook? I’ll send you the photos.”

“Okay.” Colton nodded and friended her on Facebook.

Immediately, Nicole sent the photos to the man. Squinting her eyes, she tried to hold back her collapsing mind. Since she had lived abroad for many years, she basically didn’t have any close acquaintances in the country. Thus, she had no one to turn to for help. As she hesitated, she received a call from Zachary. She then sniffed before answering the call and spoke with a shaky voice. “Hello?”

Having heard from the waiter that Nicole and Colton had hurriedly left the hotel with displeased faces, Zachary knew something was up. However, now that he heard Nicole’s tone, he immediately realized the seriousness of the matter. After pausing for a while, he asked, “Nicole, did something happen?”

“Hayden has been kidnapped.” She held back the urge to cry. Zachary was stunned to hear this and quickly comforted him, “I’m coming right away, Nicole.” Hanging up the call, Nicole crouched down. The weather was quite cold in February. Despite only wearing a dress, she crouched down stiffly as if she couldn’t feel the floating cold. With that, Colton took off his coat and wrapped it around her. As he looked at the woman before him, an inexplicable pain flashed in his eyes. “I’ve instructed some men to look for your son. In the meantime, I need you to think about whether you’ve offended anyone in the country,” he suggested calmly, thinking that only a spiteful enemy would kidnap her son. Feeling the warmth on her back, she caught a scent on the coat that belonged exclusively to the man, which she found comfort in. She raised her hand to wipe away the tears in the corner of her eyes and shook her head. “Not that I know of. I’ve been living abroad for the past few years. I haven’t been back here during that time either.” As she stammered, an idea popped into her mind. If there was anyone who held a grudge against her, it could only be the Andersons.

Are the Andersons behind this? But why would they do that? Hayden is Joseph’s son, so even if they take him in, it won’t do them any good. Maybe there’s some convenience they’ve found in kidnapping Hayden?
