Nicole curled her lips into a smile as she stroked Hayden’s soft hair in gratification. She really didn’t take offense at Joseph’s words. After all, although she had slept with Joseph that night, she had never thought of becoming a couple with him. “I’m not angry. I’m glad to have you.” It’s just that I came for nothing today. I had already thought that Joseph was just an ignorant and incompetent playboy, but I didn’t expect that this playboy was also a worthless mediocre. She quickly left the mall with Hayden in her arms.
Meanwhile, Queenie was chatting and joking with several young girls who came to shop here. When she saw Nicole, she wanted to walk up to her and tease her a little. However, upon seeing the features of the boy in Nicole’s arms, she was completely stunned. That boy looks like the miniature version of Colton! He looks like he’s about four or five years old, which matches what happened five years ago… C-Could he be Nicole and Colton’s son?!

For a moment, Queenie froze on the spot, as if she had been struck by lightning. Colton would definitely become suspicious if he saw that boy. If he continued to investigate, would he find out what really happened five years ago? Once he knew everything, not only would the Andersons lose the great wealth and glory we currently enjoyed, but we would also be completely offending the Gardner Family! No one would dare to deceive Colton like this… She couldn’t help but shiver as she thought of how harsh Colton could be.

“Queenie? Queenie!”

“Huh?” Queenie came to her senses, only to see her friend beside her looking at her with concern. The friend asked, “Are you okay? You look so horrible.”

“I-I’m fine.” Queenie composed herself. When she turned to look at Nicole again, she had gotten into the car with the boy and driven away.

Queenie’s expression was fierce as she watched the car drive away. To think that Nicole, that damn bitch, was secretly pregnant with Colton’s child and even gave birth to the boy! No one knows what happened five years ago except Mom, Dad, and me. It should have been over, but now there’s a boy coming out of nowhere! I would never let Nicole destroy everything I have now—ever!

After returning home with Hayden in her arms, Nicole thought about what had happened, but the more she thought about it, the more she felt that something was wrong. Why wouldn’t Queenie and Joseph believe that I am Lisa? Not only that, but they both think that Lisa is a middle-aged woman in her forties! After thinking about it, she realized that this could only be Zachary’s doing.

Zachary Yates was the president of F&M Apparel. Having taken office at a young age, he was a man of extraordinary means, but also of poor taste. Nicole had no idea what had happened to him, but three years ago, he had fallen in love with her at first sight and began aggressively courting her, disregarding the fact that she already had a child. Nicole had rejected his advances adamantly, without giving him a chance, but the more resolute she was in refusing him, the more aggressively he courted her.

Thinking of Zachary, a hint of helplessness appeared on Nicole’s face. She picked up her cell phone and dialed his number.

“Hi, honey! Why do you have time to call me today? Is it because you miss me?”

Nicole gathered her patience as she listened to Zachary’s voice, which sounded like he needed a beating. She asked, “Why are there rumors that I’m a middle-aged woman in her forties? Is this your doing?”

Zachary’s voice took on a tone of puzzlement. “There are such rumors? How come I don’t know about them?”

Nicole gritted her teeth in anger. “Who else would have spread the rumors if it wasn’t you? Now no one believes me when I go around telling people I’m Lisa!”

Hearing Nicole’s angry voice, Zachary pretended to finally remember what had happened. “Ah!” he exclaimed softly. “I forgot. It was probably because people in the country were asking about you two years ago. Well, you’re the chief designer of F&M Apparel, and I was worried that you might be hunted down, so I came up with this stupid idea,” he explained nonchalantly.

Nicole snapped, “Do you know how much your stupid idea is hurting me? People come to me, asking if I could work with them, but they don’t believe me when I tell them I’m Lisa!” She was seething with anger. No wonder Joseph and Queenie don’t believe I’m Lisa. It turns out Zachary was the one who started the rumors!

Noticing how Nicole seemed increasingly agitated, Zachary hurriedly reassured her, saying, “A week later, okay?”

Nicole rolled her eyes. It wasn’t like she cared much about her status as head designer; she was just angry that they had dismissed her as a copycat. “Don’t spread any more rumors. Otherwise, you’ll ruin your own company’s business,” she muttered. Even if she did end up closing a deal with the Mann Family, the deal would be worth nothing more than peanuts to F&M Apparel. Still, she couldn’t

“Okay, okay. Whatever you say is fine, Miss Anderson.” Zachary chuckled in a deep, alluring voice.

Nicole asked, “By the way, should we close the deal with Gardner Corporation before the turn of the year?” She remembered what she was supposed to do. Her life had been in a mess ever since she returned to the country several days ago. First of all, there was Colton, because of whom she had found Queenie. And lastly, there was the incident with Joseph… She had been so caught up in these matters that she had almost forgotten the real purpose of her return to the country.

When talking about work-related matters, Zachary finally started to sound more serious. “There’s no need to be in such a hurry. Our collaboration with the Gardner Family this time will begin after the turn of the year, and the Gardners are invited to the annual dinner. Still, you can visit the Gardner Corporation tomorrow to take a look around first.”

Nicole pondered for a moment. Actually, I need to go to Gardner Corporation to meet with the person in charge before collaborating. Otherwise, with little to no knowledge of the company, I might not be able to come up with satisfactory clothing designs. “Okay then, help me set up a meeting with the president of Gardner Corporation tomorrow. I’ll take a look.”
