ALPHA KADEN'S MATE - EPISODE 36
“I don’t understand what it says.” He said returning the book back to him.
He laughed at him, “I won’t blame you, Your Majesty. But you have to know one thing… There is only one person who can read the writings.”
“Who is that?”
“You know that already, Your Majesty.”
He sigh deeply, his breath fogging the strand of his hair. “Can you for once, Evans, go straight to the point.”
“Your mate.” He finally said. “ I am sure His Majesty is very much aware of Lady Walker’s powers. To find out what the Book says, she needs to read it.”
“Illiana is not a witch, why would you think she is the one who can read this writing? And besides, those are Greek, she only speaks English.”
“For the meantime, she doesn’t. But very soon, she will.” He drops the Book on the table. “Until then, you keep this to yourself.
When the time comes for her to open the Book, do not hesitate to let her read the writings. Whatever answer you seek is in this Book.”
“How long will I have to wait before she gets to read the writings?” he asked, taking the book from him.
“That’s up to fate to decide not me.”
Alpha Kaden didn’t return back to his room, rather he went to his office. Flipping through the pages of the book, he sighed for almost the fifth time now.
He still doesn’t know why Illiana has to carry all this burden alone. Watching her sleepwalk to the library and not just that being able to see the future, and now… she is the only one who can read the Greek writings?
He wished none of this was ever going to happen, and he can’t stop from wondering what her reaction would be if he had to tell her what Evans had just told him few minutes ago.
He didn’t notice when Coen entered his office. He was resting by the side of the door, and even for the minutes he had been standing there, Kaden seem not to notice his presence.
“Maybe you should get some alcohol, get wasted and have a long nap, I think that will be of a great help.” He said, interrupting Kaden from his thoughts.
“Coen, you know alcohol doesn’t work on me. It’s pointless giving it a try.”
“It might be, but an attempt can work out for your worries. You know, they help clear off disturbing thoughts. Or maybe, Ana can be of help rather.”
Kaden rose an eyebrow at him. “Oh please, don’t give me that look. You just have to get her to sleep with you and… all your worries will be all gone for good.”
“You aren’t serious, are you?” he said.
“Never been serious like now. Trust me, you will never regret it.”
“We aren’t married yet, do you think she’s gonna want that now?”
“Of course, she will. All girls want something like that. Hold on,” he paused, “ don’t tell me you two haven’t done it yet all this while?”
“Coen, shut the f*ck up.”
He chuckled as he came to sit on the guest chair. “Why don’t we do the third choice then?”
“What third choice?”
“We talk. You know It’s been a long time since we had talked about your problems.” He folded his arms, “So tell me, what’s the problem?” he started.
“The Book,” he answered with a pause.
“What Book?” Coen asked inquisitively.
“This Book.” He said, pointing at the book before him.
“Can I have a look?” he asked. Kaden passed it to him while he flipped through the pages. “Where did you pick this from?”
“I didn’t pick it, I borrowed it from the library.”
“What do you want with a Greek Book… a magic one for all that matters?”
“It’s not just a magic Greek Book, it’s a guide to the future. This Book is the reason why my step mother killed my father, because she wished to have the book to herself. Poor thing she thought my father was the one who had it to his possession.”
“Who was with it then?”
“Sir Fred.”
“You mean the keeper?”
He nodded his head.

“Mmm…” she yawned stretching as she glared around the room. Looking beside her, Kaden was nowhere to be found. “Kaden?” she called. “Kaden?”
She went to have her bath, taking twenty minutes of her time in the bathroom. She was hoping before she would be over taking her bath, Kaden must have returned by then.
Yet, he didn’t show up.

“Boring day.” She hissed.
She went to meet Laura who was in her room making her hair. She had finished twisting it then, she started folding them into circles.
This was actually the tenth time she was doing this and yet, she wasn’t doing any good to it.
“Let me help you.” Illiana said from the door.
“Oh please, you just read my mind.” She loosened her hair, adjusting well for Illiana to take over the dressing.
“I always find it so difficult to make my hair myself. I always watch hairstyles on YouTube, and its definitely not as easy as you see it.”
“You watch videos on YouTube?”
“Who doesn’t watch videos on YouTube?”
“I’m not a fan though, I prefer the internet.”
“Everyone has a preference. So tell me, how do you learn how to make hairstyles?”
“My mom, she taught me. Since we travelled to the state, she went into hair dressing business. And I always sneak into her phone to watch videos.”
“Mmm… Well, that’s a good thing. I won’t have to bother about a new hairstyle as far as I have you here.”
After she was done making Laura’s hair, she applied gel to style her baby hair, giving her a awesome look. “I’m done.”
Laura was admiring herself at the mirror while Illiana walked around the room. There was a picture of Laura and Kaden together, she took it from where Laura had kept it, moving her fingers on Kaden.
Laura looked at her, “That was twenty years ago.”
Illiana couldn’t believe her ears. The photo looked like something that was taken months ago. They looked the same, as if they were destined not to age.
“Twenty years ago?” she asked. “Tell me you aren’t lying.”
“I am not lying to you. Why would I ever lie over a photo?”
“You guys still look young. I remember twenty years ago, I was just a baby then. How is it possible by the way that you guys don’t age?”
“We do age, but that’s after a long period of time.”
She stared at the photo again, touching his picture, she gasped, falling to the ground. “Ana!” Laura yanked from where she sat, rushing to hold Illiana’s body. “Ana, are you alright?”
“What happened” Ana asked as Laura helped her sit.
“You passed out for a second. What happened?” she asked back.
“I don’t know.” She said rubbing the back of her head. “I think I… I can’t remember but… I was staring at the picture and all of a sudden, I… I don’t know.”
“Can you stand on your feet?” Laura asked concerned.
“Yeah, I think so.” She helped her stand to her feet.
“We should talk to Kaden about this, don’t you think so?”
“I know, but right now, he shouldn’t know.”
“But why?” Laura asked.
“I don’t want to bother him with anything, especially now he’s got a lot in his mind.”
“Telling him about this isn’t bothering him, you just have to let him help you. Whatever it is that has caused you to faint, I know it isn’t something ordinary.”
ILLIANA*
The truth is, Kaden already know what I am passing through, but the fact that he doesn’t believe I saw him die bothers me so much.
Not that I didn’t remember how I passed out few minutes ago, I just don’t want to put Laura into this nightmare journey.
Telling Kaden made him look worried than he should, I can’t put her in the same boat. And talking about my reason for fainting… that’s another part of the story I have to tell Kaden.
Seeing him for the second time dying… I’m beginning to wonder if the vision I had seen about the future was actually true.
Did he really won over the battles?
Or did fate change in a way no one knows?
And I keep wondering if he ends up dying according to my vision… What will be the fate of the Moon Stone Pack?
