ALPHA KADEN'S MATE - EPISODE 11

The previous time, that was only a dream. But now, it’s more like a reality to me. Mom and her friend has finally fixed a date for our wedding and do you even know the worst part of it all??

I haven’t met this so-called groom before.

” Ana, it’s almost ten already, what the heck is keeping you waiting? ” Danielle yelled from the outside.

” I already told you guys, I’m not ready yet! ” I yelled back.

” Oh please, for damn sake try to be practical. This is your happiest day, you shouldn’t waste it for nothing. ”

” Of course, I am being practical over the shit you guys are creating. You know what, I’m sick and tired of listening to this and that! ” I stamped my fist in the desk. ” I don’t wanna get married… at least not yet. ”

” Can you just let me in and we will talk straight about this? ”

I sighed. I opened the door for her to enter, ” Don’t try to convince me to accept this marriage, Danielle, I’m sick and tired of hearing this over and over again, okay? ”

” Look, Ana, we are only trying to help you. We don’t want you going around living your life in a shit hole with that monster. ”

” Stop… ” I warned.

” Ana, are you even listening to me? That guy isn’t for you. I mean, he’s not even your spec. I wanna accept this is fate, but each time I try to, I keep seeing reasons why I have to believe this is nothing but a f*cking lies! He just brain-washed you to something that doesn’t exist. ”

” What are you talking about? ”

” Now that’s a good question. That so-called lover boy of yours is out there doing what exactly? Nothing! If he really cares about you, he wouldn’t have been threatening your life with that mark.

He would have just come and do the natural method of picking a bride and not appearing and disappearing in your dreams. Look, I know this is so crazy but trust me, mom is only doing the right thing for you. ”

” Today is my wedding day, right? ”

” Yes, it is. ” She replied.

” Now let me ask you this, out of the three of us, why do I have to be the first to get married? Gene is twenty four and your twenty two, I am only twenty, why am I getting married first, huh? ”

She sighed frustratedly, shifting her hair strand to the back. ” Ana…”

I cut her short. ” Answer me!”

” Getting you married wasn’t my decision. ”

” Really? ” I scoffed. ” Why then do you seem a little bit more bothered than anyone? ”

” Ana… ”

” Father was right about it. ” She made a confused face. ” They aren’t the real monsters, we are. And about getting married to Johnson, I accept the marriage. ”

” Don’t tell me you are only getting married because we asked you to. Ana, you’ve got to love Johnson with all your heart. He’s a gentle guy and… ”

I threw her a hard gaze. ” Cut the crab, Dani, I’m not interested. ”

” You know, you don’t have to waist your twenty years in vain. ”

I furrowed my brow, ” What did you just say? ” I asked annoyed. ” You know if my math is correct, you are the one wasting your twenty two years in vain and so is Gene. ”

While she sat speechless on the bed, I applied a little make up on my face, pulled myself into the gown which I was pretty sure looked horrible on me. And off I left her in my room to the waiting vehicle outside.

” Illiana, you’re late. ” Mom said.

” You should be grateful I showed up. ” I eyed her, hopping in the car.

” Seriously? ” I heard her say but ignored her.

” To the church please. ” I said and immediately, the driver started the car, zooming off to the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church twelve miles downtown.

My phone buzzed, I checked the caller, it was Gene. I didn’t want to answer the call but… I actually don’t want to. She then texted me,

Where the heck are you, Ana?

Seeing the message, I switched off my phone, hiding it in one of the pockets of the trouser I was wearing. You might wonder how crazy I am to put on a trouser under my wedding dress, on my f*cking wedding day.

Yeah, I’m cool with that, and it’s definitely not my fault either. We stopped before the Catholic Church, a guard came to open the door for me.

I held my flower firmly, and the only thing I liked about it was it’s scent.

The door opened, my heart almost flew out of my chest. What a great multitudes of people!! All eyes were fixed on me, some had their lips almost torn in halves all because they were smiling.

I could hear muttering voices, and I’m definitely not surprised either. Those side gossipers are only concerned on how hilarious I dressed. Yeah, I’m a typical explanation of that.

The so-called Johnson of a groom was busy smiling away his time, and mother on her own side looked like she had won a twenty million lottery ticket. If actually she has.

Suddenly everywhere grew quiet as the sermon commenced. While the priest joined us together, I was thinking of how hectic my new home would be.

How suffocating it would be living with someone I hate, someone I don’t even know and all of a sudden, I am getting married to this someone.

” Is there anyone against this union should speak or forever hold their peace” The priest said and the whole congregation were quiet. ” Therefore, I…”

The door banged open, a man on a black tinted tux with a black cane(walking stick) in his right hand, and a black hat which made his face almost invisible walked in with two other guys behind him.

They were also putting on a black suit, except from the hat and cane. In a deep voice, he said. ” The ceremony is over, cancel the wedding.”

The hall was filled with chattering and murmuring voices. And he seemed not to be bothered about any of that.

He started to the alter, and his guard followed behind. Mom left her seat to stop him from making it further to the alter, he held her hand.

Pretty sure he held them so tight that she fell to the ground, weeping and sobbing for two reasons I am aware of. One, the tightness of his grip on her hand hurts.

And two, he was gonna take me right before her eyes. Again, dad was right about one thing, one can never run away from his destiny.

Although I had no idea about his coming, but somehow, I was ready for a day like today. A time to face my destiny, a time to appreciate it.

” I’m sorry, Mrs Walker, but a deal is a deal. ”

” No, please, no. Don’t take her away from me. She’s still a novice to your kind. Just let her be with her freedom. ”

” A novice? ” He smirked. ” Don’t you think she has all this while been a novice because you kept the truth away from her? ” He touched her right cheek, ” Don’t worry Mrs Walker, very soon, she will learn more about my kind. ”

Somehow, I’ll admit I pitied for mom. I know she is only trying to protect me, but for how long? The only way to protect me is to let me face what fate has for me.

Although, I know it’s gonna be difficult for me to adapt to the wolf lives and the rest of them. But what am I gonna do?

He dropped her hand, making his way further to the alter. He stopped staring at Johnson from head to toe. ” Who the f*ck is he, Ana? ” John asked me.

I couldn’t give a damn reply cos I don’t know what to answer. Saying he was my destined mate? Or,,,

” Johnson, it’s a long story. ” Was all I could say.

Johnson opened the veil from my face. ” You say you don’t know him, why then is he here for you, on our wedding?! ” He raked. ” Did you tell him we were getting married? ”

” I never said I didn’t know him, don’t get me wrong. I said it’s a long story. And besides, I never told him we were getting married. ”

The whole time while Johnson and I talked, he was smiling at us. ” Hey, dude, what’s so funny, huh? ”

He ignored Johnson’s question, fixing his gaze on me. ” So after everything, you still think getting married to him was the best choice to make? ” He said in a soft tune.

” Hey, I asked you a damn question! ” Johnson yelled.

” It’s time to go home. ” He finalized, still not ready to notice Johnson who was now burning in anger.

” You are not taking her anywhere with you. Ana is my wife, and as you can see, it’s our wedding. ”

Now, he noticed him. ” I’m sorry, you said? ”

” I said no one is leaving this hall. ”

I just noticed how extra silent the hall was, and no one said anything. Gene and Danielle who I was expecting to do something otherwise still sat on their seats.

Mom was still sitting on the floor, crying like a kid. ” Don’t you think it’s… silly to create a fight in the church? Haven’t you learn to respect the crucifixes? ” He smiled.

Oh, damn! Since when does wolves go to church?

” If you don’t, I do respect it a lot. ” He said, looking at the big crucifix in front.

” Who the heck are you? ”

” I wish I can answer that question but, I work with my time.” He turned his gaze at me. ” Let’s take you home, kitten. “
