Josephine laughed. “I doubt that you would have the guts to do so anyway.”

Lizbeth wanted to leave the mansion right after Tommy had left because she couldn’t stand Josephine’s food—her cooking skills were terrible. However, she barely walked out of the house when Josephine dragged her back to the dining table and forced her to try the dishes.

Lizbeth had no choice but to sit down unwillingly. On the other hand, Jared was enjoying the food that Josephine prepared. His praises made her very happy.

Sensing Josephine’s gaze on her, Lizbeth forced herself to pick up the cutlery and eat something.

Halfway through dinner, Jared’s phone rang. He stood up as he picked up the phone.

“Jared, are you at Horington right now?”

It was Ingrid who called him.

“Yes, Ingrid. Why?” He sounded a little nervous because he thought she was in some kind of trouble.

“Tessa Snyder is going to have a live concert at Horington in five days. Can you get some tickets for me since you are so capable?” Ingrid asked softly.

“Sure!” Jared agreed to it without hesitating.

Ingrid hung up the phone happily after Jared agreed to help her. However, Jared felt a little reluctant because he didn’t want to interact with Tessa for fear of getting seduced by her beauty and charm. After all, she was a true beauty and he was so afraid that he would just melt and give in if he were to spend more time with her.

Alas, he had to contact her personally because he made a promise.

After keeping his phone, Jared sat down again.

“Who was it?” Josephine asked curiously.

“Ingrid called to ask me to get her some tickets for Tessa Snyder’s concert,” Jared replied.

Lizbeth hurriedly asked, “Are you able to get them then? It’s impossible to get the tickets even if you offer to pay a higher price now. I didn’t get any tickets either.”

Jared nodded. “Yes, I can.”

“Can you help me get one too?”

Lizbeth believed that Jared had the ability to get a few tickets for them.

“Sure!” Jared agreed without hesitation.

“I am so envious! It’s so nice to have a capable boyfriend, you can solve almost everything!”

Lizbeth was genuinely envious of Josephine.

“If you are really so envious, let’s share him!” Josephine laughed mischievously.

Blushing, Lizbeth did not reply to that.

Just as they were about to finish dinner, the doorbell rang suddenly.

“Who can it be?” Josephine was confused because they rarely had visitors.

“I’ll go take a look.” Jared got up and went for the door.

Standing at the door was a pretty lady. Although she was wearing sunglasses, Jared immediately recognized her as Tessa Snyder!

“You really are staying here!”

Tessa smiled happily the moment she saw Jared.

“How did you find my house?” Surprised, Jared turned around and glanced at Josephine.

He didn’t know how to explain the situation to Josephine because Tessa was looking at him with lovey- dovey eyes. Jared dared not think of the consequences that he would face if Josephine saw that.

“Easy! You gave my dad your address. I’m here to deliver the stones.”

Tessa pointed at the truck parked not far away. “Here are the stones that you wanted. Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

“You should go back now, it’s a bit inconvenient for now. I’ll call you later as I have something to ask you,” Jared said anxiously.

“What’s the matter? Is it about the concert?” Tessa asked.
