Rosita’s standpoint

The week had been the best for me, even though it was frustrating. Mom and the girls together almost made me run back to Australia. Honestly, I packed my things and was ready to skedaddle, but Romi convinced me otherwise. I also had to do a lot of disconnecting so dad wouldn’t’t see the pictures they kept uploading. Even with my disguise, my father would be able to identify me. He knew me anywhere just as much as I knew him. And I also knew he would recognise mother even after I made the girls change her look.

The whole thing was starting to get out of hand. I needed to control it, but I couldn’t without rising suspicion. But at least, it was finally going to be over. “You know, mom would have been more happy if she knew you were her biological daughter,” he gave me a half-hearted smile. I walked over to him and sat down beside him.

“Reece, otouto,” he groaned, hate when I called him that, “I know you want me to tell her, but I do not want to just yet. The truth is my being here with you all can endanger your lives, can end you all. My father might be a darling, but I won’t cover up that he is a dangerous man, Reece, and I don’t want to hurt either of you. Very soon, I will return home,” I murmured the last part. He gasped.

I had been thinking about it, and I knew it was the right decision. It was safer if father didn’t find out at all. After the camp thing, I was going to leave, tell mom that my father and I have settled and he wants me back. We would still communicate, I would still come and visit as me and then as the daughter she believed she lost. I would tell her I never found my mother and want her to be my mother. That way, she would be happy either way.

“Rosita, Oneesan, you can’t leave…”

“Reece,” I clenched my fists on my thighs, “I have to. My father will kill mom if he finds out, he will end her. Don’t you understand? I’m trying to protect all of you!” I shook my head to rein back the tears, “I just got you all back, I don’t want to lose you…”

“Would you completely disappear? Leave again so our family will return to sadness? How do you expect mom to survive it! She won’t be losing the daughter she is finally reconnecting to, but also the daughter she gained! Rosita, you can’t do this to her, you can’t do this to us!”

“Reece, calm down,” I laughed, “I’ll be a mad woman to leave again. I’ll always come visit, both as me and the daughter, I would call, text, send emails…”

“Or you can tell her the damn truth so she would understand,” he hissed, “mom knows who he is, how he is, even if I don’t. I believe she is aware of what he can do and would understand if you can’t stay with us. Tell her, Rosita, or you will hurt her feelings a lot,”

He was right.

I didn’t have to hide, I didn’t have to run away to protect her. I could tell her everything because she knew the codes of our family as the bearer of the heir. At least, father must have told her when he sealed her as the heir bearer. It was tradition that the women knew what they were getting into. They had to take an oath and get purification or any child bore to them, wouldn’t have the Donahue gene in them. Even if father tricked her into taking the oath before she got pregnant, there was no way he wouldn’t have told her before I was born.

“Tsk, no, or else she won’t let me go. I think I’ll tell her when I return,”

“Of course I do. This have been my dream since a week ago,” she chirped, “don’t worry, go, whatever you have to tell me, I will squeeze it out of Reece.”

“Mom, don’t do that. I want to be the one to tell you, please?” I pleaded, staring at her poutingly. She pouted too.

“Just for few hours and I’ll tell you. By tomorrow, you’ll know.” I promised. She shrugged and nodded. I knew she would still torture Reece, but I knew he could find a way to divert her.

I swat Alvin’s hands away from Alyssa’s ass and pushed her behind me. I knew since Alyssa returned, Rosita was history to him. He liked her a lot, but there was no way I was going to let my cousin date a manwhore that would shatter her heart. And beside, she was madly in love with one of the twins.

“Mom went to get her… Isaac, stop touching her,” Sakura hissed at Isaac who her younger sister had stolen. The girl kept squealing “Onii-san, Onii-san, it’s really Onii-san again” as she held his neck tight, legs wrapped around his waist.

“Isaac, she’s twelve,” Darra chuckled. He shrugged and continued arguing with jealous Sakura.

“Dramatically, I repeat, dramatically,” she hissed. The brother walked out of the foyer leading to the staircase, shaking his head with amusement. The guys started chuckling. Rosita’s mother whacked the girls’ heads when they rushed in and screamed about them not being dramatic enough.

“Hey, Reece,” Darra smiled, waving at the fifteen years old who could make more girls swoon than we could. Reece leaned on the doorframe and folded his arms, unknowingly nailing a cool posture.

“Are you trying to say we are trouble and headache?” Alyssa gasped.

“I am not trying to,” he rolled his eyes, “I am.” And as expected, Yuki and Alyssa squealed and rushed over to pinch his cheek, only to end up arguing on who would pinch his cheeks first. We were still watching them when Rosita made her unnecessary dramatic but very effective entry.

Maybe it was just me, or maybe it really happened. But it played in slow motion and an unknown wind came out of no way and made it more dramatic. Her wings were luminating, along with her dress which was also glistering with light. It was not Rosita, and I liked it.

“Oh my… Look at my little angel,” Odin cooed before pulling her into a hug, one that made her giggle.

“Oneesan, you look beautiful,” Darra said with dramatic tears in his eyes. “I can’t believe…” Like they were all expecting me to say something, they turned to me and waited for my comment.

“You look like Yuki and Alyssa initiated you into their world of confusion,” I blunted out. Of course, only she understood the true meaning of my comment, they didn’t. They gasped and shouted my name. Rosita giggled and covered her mouth as her rosy cheeks turned hot red.

“Mom, he didn’t say anything bad, you guys just don’t understand. Alyssa’s and Yuki’s world of confusion is beautiful, colourful, bright. Their world is perfect, filled with sunshine, cupcakes and rainbows, and reflect the true meaning of enchanting beauty, glorious nature, and remarkable joy. So he meant to say I am all of that.” Rosita explained as she walked over to me.

They blinked simultaneously. They would never under us. “We better leave before they snap out of it. Mom would squeal about how romantic you are and Yuki and Alyssa would cry on how you think their world is beautiful…”

“And then fight over who is the queen of the world,” I completed.

“Obviously me,” Yuki said proudly. Alyssa snorted. “Take that back, Princess Piggyface!” Rosita quickly grabbed my hand and ran out with me as we laughed. I heard her mother shriek, meaning she was out of it and hot on our trail.

I was acting all flustered… Okay, I was flustered from everything that has happened so far. Zed was being too open and shameless with his words and flirty remarks. He was shy, at least at first… Okay, he was afraid at first, but by the time I didn’t attack him at the first and second try, nothing could stop him.

Usually, what he was saying didn’t bother me… Okay, wasn’t suppose to bother me. But it’s not really easy hearing him say it out loud or keep his hands on me when we usually just fight. The party was going on well, so very well. Too well. Throughout, he just kept me pinned to his side, hand around my waist as he had genuine fun.

I couldn’t leave him because the moment I stepped out of his hold, he became sad. It was his birthday, so I decided to let him enjoy it while it last. I was enjoying his presence too after all.

Zedekiah’s cake didn’t even make it ten minutes into the party. It was slaughtered. The second cake was eaten after everyone was practically drunk and then all the male idols tried to sing naked. I yawned as I walked into the room Odin said I would be sleeping. I wasn’t surprise to see Zed dancing in a way that made him look ridiculous. I chuckled and shut the door, before locking it.

“Dickhead, we are sharing a room,” I stated the obvious. His head bobbled as he did a cartoonish but seductive whine. I laughed this time and walked over to him to pull him to bed. The alcohol had fully taken over his mind.
